H HALSTON

Happy Friday! We moved over to Ocean House at Watch Hill, Rhode Island, yesterday for the wedding we are attending. I am ready to take up residence here for the summer! What a beautiful place Newport was and this place is equally as beautiful! This resort is pretty spectacular! I’m such a lucky girl to be here! Today though, I want to talk about a line that has been around a long time but has been remade for today’s modern woman. Remember Halston? Well, Halston has a baby named H Halston.

Many of you probably remember Halston from back in the 70’s. I know I do! I can remember seeing him in my fashion mags wearing his black turtleneck. He was the first celebrity designer. He created the pillbox hat that Jackie Kennedy wore to her husband’s inauguration and was a regular at Studio 54, partying with Bianca Jagger, Liza Minnelli, and Andy Warhol. He was one of the first designers to license his name, but it failed so high-end retailers dropped him. I’m sure if he had been around today, he would have had Halston for Target.

So today, Halston is still around with Halston Heritage but has a more affordable line for every day called H Halston, that can be purchased at Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay in Canada and now at Dillard’s. The brand’s Fashion Director, Cameron Silver,  is a name you may know if you are a follower of fashion. He is the founder of the popular and famed vintage couture boutique in L.A. called Decades.

H Halston has a very fresh look and is comfortable to wear, as well as being very affordable. Prices range from $40 to $150. All of the pieces follow the season’s trends too, with off the shoulder tops, bell sleeves, and floral prints.

I am crazy about the top I am wearing. It is a faux wrap silhouette with a halter neckline (and gold choker) and asymmetrical hem. It’s made of a heavier charmeuse fabric that feels very substantial. I chose to wear it with my white denim but would love it with black or dark denim as well. I can also see this worn with a slim black skirt too.

The suede sandals I am wearing are also from the brand. These look a lot more expensive than they are, and the fact that they are super comfortable is a plus! I have worn these so much already and brought them to wear with the dress I am wearing to the wedding we are attending, instead of the pair of Prada sandals I usually wear. I am obsessed with them!

I am off to explore a bit. Fun fact about where we are staying, I can see Taylor Swift’s home from our room. I will have a picture of it on my Instastories at some point! Hope you all have a great weekend! xx
