CHIC AT EVERY AGE// EXERCISE GEAR
Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have had a great week! Today, the Chic at Every Age crew are showing off our workout gear. Okay, let’s just get the elephant in the room out in the open! I have something to admit. I am a FRAUD! I have not worked out for over a year. I was all gung-ho last year in January (I have proof here), but like I always do, I stop and put it on the back burner. I’ve never been a big person and thankfully haven’t had to worry too much about my weight because I do eat pretty healthy. You would think that I would be exercising every day knowing that it is a breast cancer deterrent too! Hmmmm!
Well, all of that non-exercise is coming to a screeching halt come Monday. I had a bone scan and bone density test and found out that I have osteopenia and have had a significant bone loss from my last test, four years ago. My doctor says it could be my age or being on the thinner side, but she suspects it is from chemo. (the gift that keeps on giving!). Anyway, I have to start working out. I have hired a trainer and next week starts my building up of bone mass. This flabby fanny needs to get walking or on a treadmill too! I also used to love yoga, so that is on my list to do at least once a week. You can be thin, but still flabby! I feel so much better confessing what I loser I have been in the exercise department!
Now we can talk about exercise gear! Exercise clothes are so cute, and you’d think that I would be into exercising to wear the clothes! I love how you can now wear exercise/athleisure wear out and about for shopping or errands, and it’s totally appropriate. So, how did our crew wear theirs:
Natalie- The Fashion Hour, is so cute in matching top and leggings with a puffer vests. She is athletic and used to be a soccer player.
Sam- Style of Sam, has the coolest looking cutout leggings with a black top and oversized cardigan. Love that Zen look!
Heather- So Heather, is wearing a black tank and zip up jacket with a pretty plum legging.
Me- Haha! This sweatshirt is so appropriate, don’t you think? I love this silver vest (which I am wearing a lot lately) and black space-dyed leggings, but I must tell you about the sneaks I have on. Have you all heard of ON Cloud? I hadn’t until this past August. We were going to Italy and needed some comfortable walking shoes. My husband and I were told about the ON Cloud brand, so we tried them on. We are both hooked! Obviously, they have men’s as well. My husband never took them off on our trip and still wears them all of the time. They are genuinely so comfortable and light!
Heading back to Big D this afternoon after a fabulous two days in New York! I was in town for a blogger event with Chico’s that was very inspiring! Hope you all have a great weekend and Namaste! xx

Hi Cathy,
I just discovered your blog & so thrilled. I am new to blogging(consistently ) & just turned the big 5.o.!!! I’m more active on instagram, but I didn’t really know if there was much of an opportunity for someone who’s not a millennial! I’m also from the Dallas area, so even more excited to see you’re a fellow Texas gal.
So, thank you for paving the way for women of our generation!! Life just gets started at 50!!!
Any suggestions you may have are welcomed!
Thanks again!

Cathy- check out Osteostrong to help with bone density. I have had osteopenia for years and a touch of osteoporosis and I have resisted medications. I have been going to Osteostrong for a couple of years and for the first time I have seen improvement (in my frack score -indicator of fractures). For the first time in many years my doctor has not recommended medication. Best thing is it only takes 15 minute a week. In addition I have been doing yoga regularly among other things but I believe the Osteostrong has been beneficial.
