Hello, ladies! How are we doing? Can you believe how fast the days are flying by? I swear it feels like Halloween was yesterday. Are you all frantically shopping, or do you have it all together? I’m super jealous of you if you are finished! We were in Ojai Valley all last week visiting our daughter and her family. We had such a good time watching their dance class, attending the Farmers Market/Craft Market, shopping, and playing with baby donkeys. Ojai is a very cool place, and I’ve never seen sunsets over mountains so beautiful. The mountains actually turn pink! We visited them because we will not be seeing them over the Holidays (Waaah!!!!!).

Today, I wanted to show this outfit. There’s something about a vest layered over a silk bow-tie blouse that feels timeless: the crisp structure of the vest grounded by the soft, feminine drape of the blouse, a subtle balance of strength and elegance. That’s exactly what I fell for with my recent outfit — the kind of look that feels polished yet whimsical, vintage-inspired yet modern.

Of course, life (and fast-moving fashion) had other plans — both the blouse (size 10 available) and vest ((XL still available) (from Me + Em) sold out! But instead of mourning the loss, I saw an opportunity. Even though my exact vest (available in orange) and blouse sold out quickly, this silhouette is easy to recreate with the right pieces.
