NEW DENIM STYLES

NEW DENIM STYLES

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Ours was full of family (minus a few) and friends and was a lot of fun! My poor brother (younger) ended up in the hospital on Christmas Day with a ruptured appendix. He spent the entire week in the hospital and was released on Thursday. I felt so sorry for him. I have to admit that I am having difficulty getting back into the swing of normalcy. After the rushing, partying, and wrapping, my body wants to hit pause and do nothing, and that’s pretty much what I have been doing. How about you all?

Today, I wanted to share new denim styles I have been enjoying. It’s no secret that I live in denim most of the time. It fits my lifestyle and what I am most comfortable wearing. I think denim is accepted in most places now more than ever because society’s view of “appropriate” dressing has become more relaxed. The first look (above) is from Frame. This denim is their latest style, called The Hang. This is a “cleaned-up” version of the relaxed jeans. It “hangs” from a mid-rise waist with just enough room in the hip and thigh. I paired it with a boxy trucker-style jacket (rigid denim) in the same color as the jeans to give it a “matching look.” I added my “trusty” cashmere sweater from Quince, which I have in multiple colors and wear constantly! I bought the gold necklace a few weeks back and love it. It’s hollow and weighs nothing!

This look is from Rag and Bone. The jeans are high-waist with cropped and cut hems that hit at the ankle. These are stretchier denim. I love these for days when the weather is nice, and I can wear a loafer or even sandals. I paired these jeans with a sleeveless and stretchable turtleneck and a cable-knit zip cardigan sweater, perfect for those in-between-weather days. I love the color, too! It falls into the Pantone Color of the Year for 2025, Mocha Mouse.

Now, I know these jeans are going to be controversial. This style is called The Bubble from Frame. I admit that I didn’t love them at first, but the more I saw them, the more I started to come around to them. I know these aren’t for everyone. This style is a sort of homage to the 80s and 90s when exaggerated silhouettes were popular. I like them because they are playful and different from the other jeans in my closet. They are meant to be worn cuffed but look just as good worn long. Did I mention how comfortable they are? I paired them with a gorgeous lace blouse that is super soft. Have you ever bought a lace blouse only to wear it and it is too scratchy? This one is soft, wearable, and coincidentally called the “Cathy” shirt! I chose my favorite slingbacks to wear with this look.

Have you all taken down your Christmas or holiday decorations yet? I am a stickler for getting them down (and the tree, too) the day after Christmas. We are now in the process of cleaning out our attic, which we have been putting off for at least five years. We have accumulated a lot of “stuff,” and it’s time to get rid of it. I guess you know what I will be doing the rest of the weekend!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe and Be well! xx
