MARSALA
Hey Everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and were surrounded by family and friends! Christmas was almost perfect at our home…we were missing our oldest son, daughter in law and grand babies, but that’s how it goes when you have married children. It’s been a relaxing few days that have been either dreary or cold, so I have spent a lot of time either cleaning up after Christmas or surfing the internet (do people still say that?).
Pantone’s 2015 color of the year, one of my very favorites, inspired me to write about it. You may have already read what it is, but if you haven’t, it is the color Marsala. What immediately comes to mind for me is WINE, the red variety… my favorite! It’s an earthy color, that can be used as a neutral. According to Pantone’s Leatrice Eiseman, Marsala is a “reddish-brown hue, a cherry chocolate that has an organic and sophisticated air.” And while black has become overused and expected, Marsala has “a vintage but neutral feel, which evokes pleasant memories, ” she says.
