PRINT TOP AND A FEW FALL PICKS
It’s finally here, my favorite time of the year…FALL! I love the colors and smells of fall. Hello Pumpkin Spice Latte!!! Speaking of, did you know that you can have one made at Starbucks with Coconut Milk? It’s true! And, if I weren’t off the sugar bandwagon, I would have bowls filled with Brach’s candy corn and pumpkins (damn cancer!) Anyway, I love fall fashion too! The gorgeous Autumn colors get me excited , and they all happen to work with my coloring (except mustard yellow, and who can really wear that?).
The I am wearing does not have the traditional Autumn colors but has been a good one for transitioning into fall. Like I’ve said before, September is a hard month for dressing, (well, at least for me it is) especially in The South, when temps are still way up there. I’m starting to embrace this flare leg jean more and more. I love how long and lean they make your legs look. I am thinking about getting either a or pair. Have you all jumped on that bandwagon yet?
So what do you really need for fall? I think adding a piece or two of the list below will get you up to date.
Flares– I would buy a jean either in denim () or . I am not a high waist girl, (just because I really can’t stand the way they feel on my stomach) but many of the cutest ones are high waisted.
Ponchos and Capes– They are everywhere! I always envision aor at an outdoor event, worn with and a hat. Try belting one too!
Chunky Heel Shoe or Boot– I for one am so happy about this trend. The older I get, the more stable I feel on a little chunkier heel. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a stiletto, but for running around or even a night out, it’s nice to feel a little more secure. These boots are great too!
Fur(Real or Faux)- I will admit…I am a fur girl. I know that this might piss some off, but I am just being honest. I think everyone needs a fur (faux is great too) vest in their life for fall and winter. It just adds a little glam to anything you are wearing. Of course, I am always a sucker for a leopard print fur coat!!!
Saddle Bags (I’m talking handbags, not thighs here!)- A 70’s throwback favorite. I really like this one and this is cool too! And…if anyone gets this one, please let me know and send me a photo so that I can cry!
Strong Ear Candy– As we get older, we start to lengthen our skirts and cover our arms. One thing we can still have fun with is jewelry!!! The earring is the deal right now! Anything from ear crawlers to huggies, to ear cuffs is in!
Anything in Marsala– It is Pantone’s color of the Year! I am gaga over this shaggy moto jacket! So cute paired with jeans or a skirt. I think this top is beautiful to wear for a date night out. If it’s not your color to wear, try it on your foot, with a pair of booties.
Fringe– If I were ten years younger, I would be wearing nothing but fringe! I love it, but unfortunately, have worn it already in another lifetime (or two). I do think after a certain age, we can still wear it, but in a more sophisticated way. I think this skirt would be gorgeous worn to a cocktail party, with a simple black top. I bought this jacket in black, because I didn’t want to spend a lot on a trendy piece, but I promise it looks more expensive and is fine for what it is. Maybe just adding it to a handbag or a pair of gloves is enough for you. You can add a little or a lot, it’s all about your comfort level with it.
I hope this helps as you are thinking of what to add to your fall wardrobe. I am going to talk about each one separately in more posts to come. Off to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte! I love Fall!!!

Hi Cathy, Lovely look!
Living in Ontario, Canada has some of the most beautiful fall colours.
Every other weekend we leave the city and head north to Owen Sound.
All the trees are starting to turn colour….Red, orange and yellow. The
scenery is breathtaking. There is also a wee nip to the air. A great time
to get your fall clothes out and to buy a few special things.
I will look forward to seeing you in all your new purchases and reading
your interesting blog with a wee apple cider tea.
Have a lovely day!

Hi Cathy,
Thank you for your wonderful compliment. You made my day….Lol xo
My computer seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to spelling.
I really should proof read. Lol
I was born in England. My parents brought us to Canada a very long
time ago. We still have British values and and ways. True to what they
say…..It’s hard to train an old dog to do new tricks…….Lol.
I would love to someday have a wee cuppa with you! I think we would
have a super time!
