MAKING SPACE TO ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS WITH EILEEN FISHER
Hey, everyone! Today, I am so happy to be partnering with EILEEN FISHER! You all remember the post I did here a couple of weeks back. I had so many e-mails and comments about how much you all love the brand. When I was asked to collaborate with them again, I was so excited too because their theme was so important to me personally right now. EILEEN FISHER’S sentiments for the holiday season is to take the time to focus on what really matters and to make space for the special people in your life, including YOU! EILEEN FISHER’S guide to giving is an effortless way to make the space to enjoy the holidays. They also want you to share how you’re making space this holiday season.
Spending Time With Loved Ones
The reason this is so important to me is that it truly struck a chord (as our Sunday church service did as well). We are all pretty busy in our lives, to begin with, but when the holidays come around, we begin to start spinning our wheels and doing so much. How many of you are on the hamster wheel right now trying to get everything done? I have been on the wheel for about six months now, and I’m ready to jump off! I have been so blessed with this blog in so many ways, but sometimes it takes over my life. Blogging is not an eight to five job. Most of my work is done at night because of commitments I have in my personal life during the day hours. What I’m getting at, is that for me celebrating Christmas should be about spending time with loved ones and friends and taking the time to really reflect on why I celebrate Christmas. It doesn’t matter what you celebrate, as long as you take the time to do some reflecting on it.
One of my favorite lines in a series we watch, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” (if you watch the show, you either know or will know and if you don’t watch, you should!) is from the main character Midge’s mom. They are sitting in a cafe in Paris and Midge is talking non-stop. Her mom looks at her and tells her just to be quiet, look around, and take it all in. That’s why taking the time to make space is so valuable, so you can take it all in. I hope I (and you) can make the time to take in the relationships, the fun, the lights, the parties, and the stillness of this holiday season!
Gorgeous Velvet Dress
Okay now, how fabulous is this gorgeous velvet dress? When I visited the EILEEN FISHER store, I went straight to it. I pictured it with a thin black turtleneck and a fur scarf around my neck. That is exactly how I styled it. This is THE most comfortable dress I think I have ever put on. It’s almost like wearing a nightgown! The color and style of the dress are what got me. There is this beautiful satin coat that I think I may have to go back and get to wear with it. The dress is so versatile because you can wear it without anything underneath it, add a jacket or sweater over it, or as I did with a turtleneck or tee under it.
Great Gifts To Give
At EILEEN FISHER, there are some great gifts to give to loved ones and of course, yourself. I have picked out my favorite pieces to share with you below but wanted to give a special nod to this velvet shirt (selling fast), this velvet skirt (can you tell I love velvet?), and this down jacket. There are also cozy gloves and scarves that any woman on your list would love!
I hope that I am helping you all with some ideas for gift giving through this blog. It is my intent to help in that way. This is such a wonderful time of the year but stress can take a toll. I am saying this to myself as much as I am to you all, to remember to take deep breaths and look around and take it all in. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Thank you, EILEEN FISHER, for sponsoring this post, but for also reminding me to make the space for what is truly important!

I love this post! You are so right about blogging…it can take over your whole life if you let it!
The velvet dress looks amazing on you and I love how you’ve styled it!
I actually just told my husband that I was going to start watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tonight so the quote was very timely. My daughters have been telling me how great it is for a while now! You’re such an inspiration to me!

Hi, sweet Suzanne! Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for your kind words. I struggle so much with this whole blogging world. I have a hard time finding the balance between it and my life. A New Year’s Resolution for me is to figure it out (after 5 1/2 years, you would think I might have already!)! I hate the feeling of not being able to enjoy the holidays! Okay, you HAVE to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! It is such a fun and smart show and the clothes are amazing! You will love it! I hope you make the time to slow it down and breathe. Thank you so much for your very sweet comment! I appreciate it more than you know! xx
