HAPPY HOUR WITH CHIC AT EVERY AGE // FEATURING KÁSTRA ELIÓN VODKA
Natalie- The Fashion Hour // Samantha- Style of Sam // Heather- So Heather
Hello everyone, and Cheers to the weekend! I hope you have had a great week. I’ve had one of those weeks that flew by, and I can’t even tell you what I did except go to the dentist. I have gotten to spend some time with my new girl, and it’s been heavenly. She is a little bird! Do you all remember when your babies were infants, and they made that little O with their mouth and looked like a bird? She is making that face, and I have gotten a smile out of her too (which is probably gas, but I’m going with the smile)! Anyway, that’s been the highlight of my week!
Kástra Elión
The Chic At Every Age girls are back again this week with photos from a fun Happy Hour we had a few weeks ago. We were so lucky to experience a new vodka via a traveling bar cart called Kástra Elión. I have always been a red wine-only kind of girl but was interested in trying this vodka for a few reasons. One, I’m always up for a girl’s happy hour, especially with these three! The other reason is that most vodkas are made with just grain, but Kástra Elión is distilled from the finest hand-picked olives found in the Nafpaktos region of Greece. It just sounds healthier :))
This family-owned and artisan-crafted in Greece, Kástra Elión, is the newest premium sipping vodka on the block, and let me tell you, it is good! The flavor profile has subtle notes of ripe olives refined with peppery undertones and a soft, buttery finish (that description came from the company). I thought it tasted yummy, especially mixed with cold brew, vanilla syrup, and coffee liqueur! I am not a professional vodka taster or even a novice, but I can tell you that this vodka was very smooth!
The girls and I had so much fun trying a few sips of each drink we had on our menu, and we were served by our very favorite bartender, Alex. This vodka can be sipped neat, over the rocks, or chilled for a fantastic martini! It’s Friday and a great time to get a bottle and try it! The bottle sells for about $55 and can be purchased in the cities listed here and also here with custom engraving. It’s a great gift idea!
Good American Dress
Now about this dress, we are wearing! This is one hot little number that is so comfortable and soft from Good American. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, it’s Khloe Kardashian’s, and that’s the reason it’s a hot number! When we picked this dress, I have to admit that I was not excited about it. As you all have probably figured out, I am not a very sexy dresser. However, when I put this dress on, I really liked it. I did go up one size to give me a little more room. I threw on an older leather jacket over the dress for a little more coverage, but you can tell what the dress looks like from the other girls. This is a great dress from now on into fall!
I don’t have a lot going on this weekend. Dallas went into another mask mandate. So, that kind of kills any fun for me (even though I don’t do much anyway). I will probably be over at my daughter’s for most of the weekend. We’dd have dinner with a friend tomorrow night. I hope you all have a great weekend and a Happy Hour! OPA!
Stay well and safe, my friends!

I, for one, applaud Dallas for issuing a mask mandate. If more cities would do this, we might be able to get over this delta variant phase without too many more deaths. It’s too bad that it kills your fun, but do you think the doctors and nurses are having any fun? You have a captive audience on your blog. Please help be a solution to this phase of the pandemic by encouraging mask wearing and vaccines instead of complaining about the mandate. If you were undergoing chemo right now, you’d want everyone to mask up!

Hi, Sue! I am so sorry if I offended you. Honestly, I am staying home a lot, and it’s not the most fun, which is okay. I actually did have aggressive chemo during flu season, and I stayed home and away from crowds (for 4 months). As far as using my platform to encourage vaccines or masks, that is never going to happen. I am not a doctor or health care official and it is not my place to tell someone what they should do for their health. This is not a one size fits all situation. There are many reasons why someone may not choose to get a vaccine, and I totally respect that as I respect anyone who wants to get one.
I hope you stay safe and well. Thank you for your comment.

What’s not fun is bringing a political debate into a fashion blog. Cathy, love the dress and the styling. All good things.

Hi Cathy, I think what Sue meant to say is that you have a lot of loyal followers and that you could set an example like you do by urging women to do a regular breast checkup. Here in Europe, we still have a high rate of Covid infections also because the rate of vaccinated people is still low. I realize that people might have a valid reason not to get vaccinated, but unfortunately there are still a lot of people deciding not to get a vaccination based on incorrect information. I know your blog is about fashion and all, but the main reason why I like you and your blog is your honest, respectful but direct opinion. It is not my intention to force you into something or offend you in anyway, but as you are a rock in informing about all the ins and outs of breast cancer ( and herewith showing how much you care about everybody’s health), why not do the same when it comes to the risks of COVID. Thanks for your post about the vodka, we all need a good drink now and then. Big (virtual) hug from the Netherlands
