I am so lucky to have the job I have as a blogger/influencer! I have been so blessed to have worked with many great brands and am so thankful each time I get asked to collaborate. What is great, is that our “Chic at Every Age” group is starting to get more collaborations which means that we all get to work together more! I can’t tell you how much I love these three women! With Mother’s Day on the horizon, we were asked by Links of London to post a celebration of being mothers. To me, I can’t think of a more rewarding title, and I have always loved being a mom. Now I get to add grandmother to that title!
Links of London gave us all these darling sterling silver “Sweetie” bracelets that are a fun alternative to a charm bracelet. I remember my grandmother and even my mom having charm bracelets. I have never had a charm bracelet, so I am so excited to add to this one. I chose the W and E charms (for Wiley and Evie, my grandchildren) to start and will add more to it. Here’s where the problem lies, there are so many fun charms to choose from, that I have no idea what to pick next. The bracelet I am wearing is expandable to fit most wrists, and the charms can be added by you (instead of taking them to a jeweler). All of us are wearing the same bracelets but with our own individual charms.
The “Chic” girls wanted to celebrate us as mothers! We had Natalie’s new baby, Mila, Samantha’s children, Matthew and Mia, Heather (her kids are in college), and I had my “princess” Evie (Wiley was in school) altogether! We broke out the Rose’ and desserts because that’s how we roll (especially Heather)! We had never done this before, having children with us for a photo shoot, which was very comical, but it turned out to be a sweet time.
Even though my children are all grown and on their own, being a mom is still the most important thing to me. I don’t get to talk to them or spend as much time with them, but when I do, I cherish the moments. I probably overstep the boundaries with them, but when I see them, I want to find out everything and then, of course, give my two cents! My husband calls me “the tick”!
Now that I am a grandmom, I understand what everyone had always told me about that role. It’s the greatest thing ever! When my first grandchild was born, I looked at him and thought, “I’m supposed to love you to death?” It took one time holding him and boy did it click. You can love your grandchildren as much as your own children! Of course, I have the cutest, smartest, funniest, and most perfect grandchildren in the whole world!
My mom taught me how to be a mom. She loved my brother and me so much and then loved my kids the same way. Now she gets to enjoy her great-grandchildren the same way too! She spent a lot of time with me, and that is the most important thing…spending time. I haven’t been as good as I would like to, spending time with my grandchildren. At this point in my life, I thought I wouldn’t be doing much other than being a grandmom. Well, I was wrong. I love having this blog, but I haven’t figured out how to balance everything. Hopefully, I will figure it out, and who knows what I might be doing next year.
I hope you take the time to celebrate “you” this Mother’s Day! It’s a tough job, but so worth it!
Thank you to Links of London for sponsoring this post!
