A GOOD NEUTRAL LOOK
A GOOD NEUTRAL LOOK
Hello, ladies! I hope you all are well and that you had a great weekend! We had the grandkids on Friday night and some grandparent duties on Sunday. My eight-year-old granddaughter is a hoot! She gets ready in my “make-up” room and goes to town without her parents around. For dinner out on Friday, she had peacock blue eyeshadow on and lots of cheek! She calls me “girl,” as in yea, girl and okay, girl. She is a “sporty” girl but likes a little rhinestone here and there. It’s so funny to listen to these kids, but what they already know is scary! It was a fun weekend, and the weather was so nice and warm. It’s time to break out the Spring clothes!
Neutral Look to welcome Spring
When March rolls around, I like to add the beautiful colors of Spring gradually, but I love a good neutral look. I found these fantastic pants (and here) by Reiss and thought they were a great alternative to wearing denim every day. These pants can be worn dressier with a heel, or I would pair them with a fun pair of sneakers or sandals. These pants have an elasticized drawstring waistband making them super comfy. They are made with recycled polyester yarn to make them more sustainable. I paired the pants with a silk shirt from Vince and an older Veronica Beard leather blazer (similar here). Any blazer will look great with these pants. The shoe I added is from L’Agence. Both my daughters-in-law were in my closet a week ago and were laughing at one of my shoe shelves because I have the shoe from L’Agence in about six colors. I adore this shoe! It’s so easy, and the heel is a nice height.
Time to move Winter for Spring in your closet
I’m trying to soak up the fantastic weather we are having in Dallas right now by wearing my denim, button-downs, and sandals because I bet there will be another cold front that comes through. That is why I love a neutral look! I have been working in my closet to move in my Spring/Summer pieces for the past few weeks (taking me a while!). We are headed to New York this coming weekend, and the weather is supposed to be cold and rainy, so I am keeping out a few heavy sweaters for that! It’s hard to know what to wear this time of the year! One thing that is very easy to wear is jewelry!
If you live in Dallas, you might already know of Petra Jewelry. I am a big fan because they don’t have the overhead of a storefront, and the prices are pretty darn great! The diamond necklace is a piece I purchased a few years back. I have since added this gold chain, this green opal necklace, and these turquoise and diamond earrings. I have seen most of the pieces on the website in person, which are gorgeous. This necklace is the most bang for the buck! It looks almost like diamonds when it’s on. They can’t keep them in stock! Mother’s Day and Graduations are coming up, and I am just reminding you that everyone likes jewelry!
The weeks seem to get busier and busier leaving me more in a tailspin. So much for being that grandmother that sits around and knits! I never imagined being this busy at this stage of my life. I know keeping busy is good, but enjoying the moment is very important too! I remember the saying, “I can sleep when I’m dead,” but Lordy, sometimes I need a nap!
Wishing you a wonderful day! Stay well and Be safe! xx
