GIRL’S TRIP TO LA AND A STRIVECTIN GIVEAWAY
Good Morning everyone! Is your spring calendar starting to look crazy busy? What is it about spring and my calendar? I think this time of the year is busier than the holidays! I have a lot going on! One of my friends is always telling me to remember “boundaries”! Uggghhh, I am horrible and such a people pleaser when it comes to saying “no”! My husband gets after me too, because when I have too much going on it creates stress, but I am also guilty of FOMO! What is a girl to do? Maybe take a girl’s trip to LA with your gal pals, which is just what I did last month (to relieve some stress!).
I know you recognize the two girls with me. Sam, of Style of Sam and Heather, of So Heather. We have become such good friends over the last four years and had been talking about taking this trip for a long time. We finally bit the bullet and did it! We were so excited to get to the sun and warmer temperatures and wouldn’t you know it, it was overcast and rained the whole time we were there. When does it ever rain in LA (except this year!)? Anyway, it did not stop us from having a fabulous time! We stayed at the Montage in Beverly Hills and were treated like royalty. We were driven to our dinners each night in their Rolls Royce (anyone staying at the hotel can use the car, we are not special!) and had a smorgasbord of desserts and champagne waiting in our room one night (because we Instastoried the crap out of the hotel!). I do love the hotel and would stay there again!
We shopped and ate most of the time. Dinners were at Mr. Chow, Cecconi’s, and Catch. We had lunch at The Ivy and had snacks on the run the other days. We got to meet with two brands that we were so excited about. One was with Rachel Zoe. We spent about two hours at her office (she wasn’t there) with her team touring and then trying on lots of clothes. It was like playing, Â “big girl dress up”! Rachel was getting ready for an event at the Ralph Lauren store that night, so the team asked us to come and meet her there. We did get to meet her, and she couldn’t have been nicer. She loves Texas! I had great fortune that night as a book that I have been wanting was in the store and on sale. Have you all ever seen Annie Lebowitz’s book of portraits that sits on a stand (it weighs about 50 pounds!)? I have wanted this book since I saw it a few years ago because it would be like having a different piece of art every day. The book was actually on sale at Ralph Lauren and is on that stand in my living room right now! I love looking at the photographs!
Back to our trip! The other brand that we met with is called Callidae. The founder and designer had us to her gorgeous home for afternoon wine to talk about her brand and let us try on her pieces. Callidae is an equestrian lifestyle brand that is also very timeless and fashionable all made in America. I love horses but am not an equestrian, but I would still wear her pieces! They are so fun and chic. Check out the zip up sweater (we all got it), this classic show shirt, and this popover neck kerchief to keep you cool and protected from the sun. You don’t have to be an equestrian rider to wear these pieces, but if you are one, you should definitely know about this brand!
It was such a fun trip with great friends, and we decided it would be a yearly event. We love LA! Now, don’t forget to sign up for the giveaway below.
