OFF THE SHOULDER TOP
Hi, Everyone! We are on the road to Austin now to drop off some things for the wedding and go over last minute details. It’s a quick trip, but I will feel better having this last run before the big day! I know a lot of you have planned weddings, but do you ever get to the point where you feel like you’re ready? I don’t feel like that yet, but hope I will by 6:30 the day of! So today’s post is about the off the shoulder top.
I wanted to show you an outfit that I wore a few weeks back when my Chic at Every Age girls were asked to be on a segment for Eye Opener TV Dallas on how to wear an off the shoulder look at any age. Of course, I was the oldest one but proud to be representing my age group! While the off the shoulder trend is not my favorite, I do like this top from J.Crew. So many of the off the shoulder tops are ruffled, and I feel like a cupcake wearing them! This one is a very simple and wearable version (comes in a few colors too). Has anyone tried adding a piece of elastic on an off the shoulder top that goes under the armpit (does that make sense)? Someone told me that it keeps the top from riding up when you move.
I was asked to wear my own white jeans and was given these amazing earrings (also J.Crew) to wear. These are show stoppers for sure! I brought my own shoes that I had just purchased at DSW. I happened to see these denim sandals in an InStyle magazine and loved them. I raced over to the store to see if they had them, and YAY! They are less than $40 but don’t look it! Believe it or not, they are pretty darn comfortable too!
The bag was a huge splurge for me. I have loved it in this blue forever. There is a reason I bought it though. The bag is called “Evelyn, ” and my granddaughter’s name is Evelyn. I decided that I was going to buy it and give it to her (one day). Every time she sees that bag now, she points and says, “that’s my bag” (she’s two!)! It will be very vintage by the time she gets it, but I hope she will love it as much as I do!
Have a great day and thank you for reading! xx

I like it! . And then there!s the delimma of the bra! A blog on bras for all the unusually cut blouses would be great!

Haha! You are correct! Most of the time I wear those mini “chicken cutlets” over the nipples. But then again, my boobs don’t move (thank you cancer!). Thank you for the suggestion and thank you, Cher, for always being so sweet and supportive! xx

Hi, Deborah! Thank you! I have no idea really…I’ve always been this way. I do eat fairly healthy (except for the occasional french fries, chicken wings, and chocolate!). I am the worst at exercising, so it has to be my metabolism and just how I was made. I wish I could say it was by some magical way, but it’s not. Thank you so much for the comment!
