OVERSIZED BLAZER

Good Morning! How are you all? I am trying to get my body accustomed to the time change. Do you guys get messed up when Daylight Savings Time happens? It takes me about a week to get used to it, but boy am I excited that it happened. I don’t understand why we even have DST. I just know that I love having a longer day with more light—no excuses for me not to get a walk in now.

And I know you all have to be so sick of looking at my pictures from my house. Believe me; I am so sick of taking them here. We started doing it during quarantine (duh!) and have continued through the winter. I promise I will be changing it up soon. I have to admit that it has been nice to have a place to change besides the backseat of my car (I do like that part of shooting at home)! So, let’s talk about my look.

I love the oversized blazer look and so glad that it has made a comeback. I think it goes with the very relaxed way of dressing at the moment. And I remember getting my first oversized blazer back in 1982. It was light blue (I’m sure with shoulder pads) from Perry Ellis and had a matching pleated blue and cream maxi skirt. I wore it with flat cream-colored oxfords. I remember it because it was expensive and I had to talk my dad into buying it for me. Anyway, I like the 2021 version of pairing it with jeans and a tee.

So I am linking a similar one. I buy these pieces, and by the time I photograph and get the photos back, some of them are sold out, and I apologize about that. I paired it with this little smocked tee from Free People. It comes in several colors and is different from any tee I have in my closet. I will tell you to go up a size because it is on the short side. Why is EVERYTHING cropped at the moment? I was shopping yesterday, and it’s either very cropped tops or sweatshirts.

I digress again, back to the blazer. And I would also pair this with jeans and sneakers, over a dress, or a pair of shorts (if you wear them). I am wearing one of my favorite pairs of jeans from a brand called Trave. I hope they will make this style in white. They look good with any shoe and heel height.

I am shooting for the blog today and then helping my daughter get her house cleaned up to get it photographed. She is debating about putting it on the market. Houses are selling in a day here, and it seems like a good time to do it. Dallas seems a lot more crowded in the last few weeks. Traffic has been crazy because I think more people are moving here :(. Crazy times!
