STRIPE TEE WITH A TWIST
Good Morning! How was your weekend? I have to say, that ours was about as low key as can be. We had dinner out with a good friend on Friday night, but that was about the extent of any whooping it up! I was really glad to have a little down time. I did get together with an amazing food blogger yesterday to shoot something for my blog that I will be sharing with you soon!
I am leaving today for Dallas, and will be staying until the end of the month. I am going (mainly) to help my parents clean out and get their house ready to possibly put on the market. I kind of started a little bit the last few times I’ve been there. Note to self…do not save everything that ever comes into your home! I have learned from this process that I do not want a bunch of “crap” in my house. Everyone has some (or a lot) but I am going to start clearing out things in my own home soon. Do you all hang on to furniture, or things that you think your kids may want some day? I have, and frankly…they don’t really want it. I have moved so many times, that you would think after purging each time, I wouldn’t have anything else to get rid of. Au Contraire!!!! How many drawer full of pens do I need, or candles or vases or “stuff”? It’s all going to get the heave ho soon! So, I will be doing this at my parent’s, and hoping they will let me get rid of “stuff”!
Damnit!!! I have talked to two women over the weekend, who are newly diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer! I get so upset when I learn of someone else getting it. One of them asked me if I had become vegan and had I given up sugar, alcohol, and basically changed my eating habits. The answer is kind of. I am so tired of reading every other day about something else that causes breast cancer. EVERYTHING does! I think moderation is key in anything. I am really good most of the time, and eat pretty clean, but if I want a glass of wine, or a piece of birthday cake, I am not going to deny myself. Anyway, I don’t think any of those things gave me cancer. I have a theory about it, but don’t want to share it just yet. Anyway…girls, please check yourselves and get those mammograms!!!
I love the I am wearing above. How adorable is the back of that thing? The crochet lace takes it up a notch, don’t you think? I hardly ever wear hats, unless it’s in the summer to keep the sun off my face. I love this. I felt very “french girl” in this casual outfit. Sometimes the simplest outfits can turn out to be the best and make you feel good! Oh…meet my dog friend that day, Raven. Isn’t she the cutest?
Hope you all have a great day and great start to the week! Thanks a bunch for reading this blog! xx

I will keep those newly diagnosed women in my prayers. I don’t have to know their names, God knows who they are. I HATE cancer! It took my Mother from me and it’s trying to get me but I am one mean, onery woman and it is not winning!

Two of my long time online friends have a recurrence of their breast cancer and are in hospice. One has done EVERYTHING right to prevent recurrence. While I also eat as clean as possible, I know it’s no guarantee. I used to think I had a modicum of control, but I now realise those little cells are going to do what they’re going to do. The last 12 days I’ve been in France where I’ve eaten everything and had wine and champaign. I enjoyed it, but my body feels abused… not sure what part of that is jet lag, so back to being a good girl. XOXOX, Brenda

Love your blog posts. Yes I too had breast cancer 3 years ago, gave up meat and then suffered with Iron deficiency. I have a friend who gave up dairy for the same reason and ended up with osteoporosis. I agree live clean but also live a life. I too am so fed up with being told everything is going to give it to me. I too have a theory, I think stress has so much to do with it!
