Hello, ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend! I got my mom married off on Saturday, but it didn’t happen without much stress! The wedding was scheduled for 3:00 pm at The Park House in Dallas. I got a phone call at 10:45 am from the venue telling me they had canceled my event due to a gas leak. WHAT??????? I went into complete panic mode. I had no idea what to do. I started frantically cleaning my house because I didn’t know what else to do and thought we might have to have it here. I called my brother and sister-in-law and told them what was happening. My sister-in-law called the Dallas Country Club, and thank the Lord, they had a room, and we pulled it together! You all won’t believe what I did, though! My husband and I picked up the cake on the way to the Country Club. There were two cakes, one to serve and one for them to take home. We got all the way in the room (my hands were full), and, you guessed it, I dropped the topper cake! Thank goodness the pastry chef could smooth out the icing, and no one knew. I told my mom that maybe my dad was messing with us for fun! All I can say is that I am so happy for them and am glad it’s done!

Okay, let’s talk about the jeans you need for fall. I don’t know about you, but I love wider-leg jeans right now. There is something so fresh about them. The three trendiest styles since this summer have been cargo jeans, baggy jeans, and bootcut jeans. Straight-leg, mom jeans (not my fav), and flare jeans are the most popular fits. It goes to show you that relaxed jeans are definitely the trend! I bought the jeans I’m wearing from Alice & Olivia. One type of jeans I didn’t mention (because they are so controversial) is lower-rise denim, which I particularly like. The jeans I am wearing are slightly lower-rise and have a wider leg and slit at the hem. These jeans encompass three trends in one! I think wider-leg jeans look better when worn with a heel or heeled bootie. Have you all jumped on any of these jean styles? I still feel that you need a pair of skinnies for wearing knee-high boots in the winter.

I adore plaid and checks in the fall and found this fab jacket in Los Angeles during my last visit. I love that it has metallic threads to give it a little “extra”! I think this could make a fun Thanksgiving Day look! Adding another look below that would make a great Thanksgiving Day look as well!

I wanted to mention two things you are probably aware of but want to say in case you aren’t. Do you all know that dry shampoos have a cancer-causing compound in them? If you use them (like I did), get rid of them. Here is a list of dry shampoos that are safe to use.

The second thing to be aware of is that high levels of BPA were found in sports bras. Now, I’m not trying to scare anyone. I’ve been wearing sports bras from Athleta, and I have gotten rid of them. I’m sure these brands will reconsider how their products are made, but for now, I am buying sports bras from different brands. I just wanted to inform you if you didn’t know these things.

I have a busy day. I am shooting, and it’s fricking freezing here today. I have lots to catch up on and an event to attend tonight. I hope you all have a great day! Stay warm!

Be well, and stay safe! xx
