THE POWER OF MATCHING SETS: FASHION MADE EASY

THE POWER OF MATCHING SETS: FASHION MADE EASY

Hello, ladies, it’s finally March! January seemed to last so long, and February was a blink! I, for one, am so glad the days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer! We took a speedy trip to NYC last week, and wouldn’t you know it, I came down with the “crud.” However, it did not stop me from going out and shopping. I love to shop in NYC, but I did not purchase much because everything I liked I could buy in Dallas, and I had one day.

I talked with my friends in Nashville a few weeks back about shopping for clothes. We are all the same age and agree that matching “sets” or pieces relieves the stress of what to wear. I don’t know about you, but I look in my closet (and it’s full) a lot and can’t find anything other than jeans and shirts to wear. I seem to purchase pants and skirts but no tops to go with them. That’s why matching sets are much more manageable.

As I’ve gotten older, dressing can sometimes feel like a puzzle. I know my shape (and skin!) is not the same as in my 40s, and sometimes, it feels challenging to look and feel stylish. That’s why it’s easier for me to buy a matching set or matching pieces. It takes the guesswork out of getting dressed. Now, I’m not saying to go “matchy-matchy” all the time. I like finding a matching set and adding another piece or two (like the sweater below) to change the look. Another plus of a matching set is it literally eliminates the stress of figuring out what to wear with what, especially if you are in a rush!

I bought the set I am wearing because of the colors. I love brown and turquoise together any time of the year. This set just made me happy. I can wear the pieces together or the pants with a sweater or tee. I can wear the shirt with white or lighter denim. That’s about four different looks with these two pieces. I am linking my favorite matching sets and pieces below.

I wanted to show a few looks from Instagram lately that haven’t been on the blog. How darling is this green eyelet dress? I love the color and the sleeve detail. This is a great spring dress for graduations, luncheons, and showers (or St. Patrick’s Day!)

Oh my goodness! The black dress below is fantastic! It’s basically a long hooded sweatshirt. If I were taking a long overnight flight, I would wear this! I want to live in this dress!

You all know how much I love Frame! I could wear their pieces almost every day! I love this lightweight black and cream striped sweater and black jeans.

Have you all noticed that fringe is having a moment? I thought this jacket was so fun for cool spring days. I also got this darling Croc-embossed bag (another trend).

My husband and I are homebound today. I passed on what I am fighting off to him. Everyone I have talked to is or has had this upper respiratory stuff. Is it going around where you are? The good news is that I don’t feel sick enough to be in bed, so I am cleaning and switching my closet to spring clothes this week. I might as well get ahead while I am stuck at home.

I hope you all have a great day! Stay WELL and Be safe! xx
