TWEED BLAZERS

TWEED BLAZERS

Hi, Ladies! How was your weekend? We had another uneventful one but an enjoyable time with my mom on Friday night. We stayed at our house, and my mom came over for dinner. My mom has a great arrangement with her new husband. She gets Friday night dinner with the girls, and he gets Saturday lunch with the guys. It so happened that no one could meet for dinner, so she came to us. My husband cooked steaks out, and we drank a little wine. I don’t remember laughing as hard as we did in a long time (like crying!)! My mom is one fun lady!

Even though it’s getting warm again, everyone is still bringing out their jackets and blazers. I found two tweed blazers that I had to have! When Fall rolls around, I am a sucker for a tweed. This first is a cropped Houndstooth blazer that works well with mid or high-waisted jeans or skirts. It’s a cute piece to dress up with a tee or tank, and the price is fantastic! I love it paired with this new denim style from Alice and Olivia. These are a mid-rise baggy style that is super cool. I chose a black tee to wear under the blazer, but the great thing about black and white is that any color would look great underneath it.

The second is a raw-hemmed tweed blazer from Veronica Beard. The color is insanely good for Fall, and I love how chic this blazer looks. This is Veronica Beard’s dickey jacket, where you can zip in and out the dickeys of your choice. I think the denim dickey would look amazing with this blazer. I paired it with a long-sleeved top from Ulla Johnson to pick up that fab camel color. Tweed blazers look incredibly chic for Fall!

EXCITING UPCOMING EVENT

If you are in Dallas, I want to fill you in on an event I will host on September 30th from 12-2 p.m. at Neiman Marcus at Willow Bend. LAGOS Jewelry is launching a very special curated Couture collection. Steven Lagos, the brand designer, designed each piece with 18K gold and precious gemstones. He created many of the pieces from the inspiration of his travels, and many are vintage-inspired styles designed for his mom. Most of the pieces are one-of-a-kind and fabulous holiday gifts!

I have seen these pieces (not in person yet), and I can tell you that they are more than gorgeous! They don’t look like the LAGOS pieces you are familiar with. The styles and stones are swoon-worthy! The good news is that you can see these pieces in Dallas from September 29th to October 2nd (Willow Bend Neiman Marcus). Dallas is one of three cities getting this jewelry. The first stop is at the Galleria Neiman Marcus in Houston, Texas, from September 23-26. Dallas is the second stop and the final place in Chicago at Neiman Marcus at Northbrook Court on October 11-15. After they move through the three stores, they will make their way into award season and on the bodies of celebrities! How fun to see what some of the stars may be wearing!

The event will include light bites, champagne, and a gift bag if you are among the first to arrive. If you let me know you will be there, I can give you an Uber code for a free ride there! Mark your calendars!

I got a jury summons and had to go to one of the courthouses downtown yesterday. I had to be there at 8:00, and can you believe that I didn’t get released until 4:30? The good news is that I didn’t get picked for the case. It had to do with drugs and guns (I assume there are a lot of those cases), and I really didn’t want to be picked. It seems like there should be a better way to conduct the jury duty pool pick. There were so many people there for different cases. There were about seventy-eight of us potential jurors for this one case. Have you all ever sat on a significant case as a juror? It was interesting to hear everyone’s answers to questions regarding the police. In the world we are now living in, it was nice to hear that almost everyone (all different races) still believes in the police. Thank a police officer when you see them!

Stay Well and Be Safe! xx
