 Hello, Ladies! I hope you all are having a great weekend! It is so dang hot here in Dallas, and we’ve had heat advisories for the last few days. It’s only the middle of June!!!!! I’m not sure I would have been a great candidate to live when air conditioning was not commonplace! I’m very grateful to Mr. Willis Haviland Carrier, who was twenty-five when he created the apparatus for treating air in Brooklyn in 1902! Anyway, it’s HOT!

The 4th of July

Have you all started thinking about the 4th of July? We will have the entire family here, and I have already started thinking about it. I’m unsure what we are doing yet, but I am gathering some items for the backyard. I love to play cornhole (what a weird name) but I have never bought a set. This one is on sale in blue and white, so I will bite the bullet and get it! This linen wine bag is so cute to take to someone throwing a party with a bottle of wine. How fun is this patriotic Turkish Towel to bring to a pool party or the beach?

Now, what to wear on the 4th? I bought this adorable shirt that I will be wearing with white jeans. I always think a blue and white stripe shirt or sweater (depending on where you live) is festive too. If you are going to be outside in the heat to watch fireworks, this adorable dress screams the 4th of July, and this Hillhouse nap dress is so cute! This eyelet skirt comes in red, white, or blue. Add a white tee, and you are good to go with any color. I would totally wear this retro bathing suit and these water-resistant sandals to the pool or beach on the 4th of July! Honestly, I may get it anyway!

I’m off to the airport this morning to catch a flight to Alabama to help my in-laws pack up their house. We are so excited that they are moving to Dallas and will be here in a few weeks. They have no idea how busy they will be once they get settled,, and will need earplugs for family gatherings! We are loud!
