NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SPRING 2015
Herve Leger show
Mara Hoffman show
Good Morning All! I hope you guys have had a great weekend. I am still on a high from mine! I flew to New York on Thursday with my good friend Heather, of STLEBYFLUENT, to experience Fashion Week for the first time. We had a blast! Thursday night, we crashed attended a party at ELAINE TURNER on Madison Avenue. Elaine and her husband are fellow Texans and live in Houston. They were the cutest and nicest couple. I did let her know we were crashers, and she was so cool about it. She spent a good amount of time with us, and I felt like we were old friends by the time we left. I am so excited that she may be opening a store in Dallas (hopefully soon!). Dinner that night was at a very cool spot called BUDDAKAN with some favorite bloggers from Dallas.
Friday morning started really early with a meeting with a PR firm. We learned about which products they work with, like Pukka teas,, and Oxygen Plus to name a few. Then, it was off to our first fashion show. We went over to the Chelsea Piers and got to see the TESS GIBERSON show. I have to admit that I was not familiar with the line, but I am a huge fan now! I loved her collection, especially the silver pleated skirt! The rest of the day was spent shopping around. That night, we were invited to the FRENCH CONNECTION party. We had a great time, and ran into lots of other Dallas bloggers. We had the same group for dinner at Butter.
Saturday was a busy day as well, and probably the most fun. Heather and I went to and had our make up done. I had mine done with the new Charlotte Tilbury line (she helped create Tom Ford cosmetics). I found out that they will be in the Dallas soon! It is a really gorgeous line. Next, we went to a brunch hosted by THE VANE. They are the weather/fashion app that I spoke about a few weeks ago. So much fun to meet the owner/creators in person. They are lovely!!!
We ran back to our hotel, changed clothes, and headed to Lincoln Center. The energy was crazy. There were photographers every where you looked, and models and fashion bloggers were buzzing about. Heather and I parted ways for an hour. She left and went to the TIBI show, and I stayed at Lincoln Center and caught two shows. Okay…I snuck into MARA HOFFMAN. I don’t know how I got lucky, but I did. Honestly, I was standing in the back, and could only see the models from the knee up. What I saw was beautiful, especially the last photo above. After that show, I got to see the show. I had a seat on the second row, and saw everything! The collection was beautiful especially his famous “bandage” dresses. My eyes were trying to focus on the show, but I couldn’t quit looking at LAVERNE COX (from Orange is the New Black). She was sitting catty-corner across from me looking drop dead gorgeous! It was an amazing experience!!!
After the shows, we then headed to the roof of the Empire Hotel, and went to the REWARD STYLE party. It was awesome! Every blogger that you could think of, from all over the country, was there! We got to meet some really great people. We had a quiet dinner at TESSA, and called it a night fairly early. I had to catch an early flight home for my daughter-in-law’s baby shower. So worth coming home for that! I am exhausted, but it was all worth it!
Have a great day!
