Hi Everyone! Since it is still October and Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to share with you a little more about my experience and how important it is to have a mammogram. If  you are new to the blog, I was diagnosed a little over three years ago with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. TNBC is a very aggressive form (think Joan Lunden and Robin Roberts) that only affects 12-15% of all breast cancers. There is a lot of research on this type of breast cancer, but so much is still unknown.

My tumor was discovered when I went in for my yearly mammogram. I was called back a few days later to have more pictures done, because I had a lot of calcifications. Thankfully, the radiologist saw something he didn’t like in one of the calcifications, and sent me for a biopsy. The biopsy confirmed that I did in fact have a tumor and it was malignant. I never actually felt a lump, and neither did any of my doctors. My tumor was hiding, and if I hadn’t had that mammogram, well…I don’t even want to think about that. A lot of women are scared or don’t like to get mammograms. I am here to tell you, that it is essential for you to do so. They really do save lives, and if breast cancer is caught early, the outcome can be very good! Look at me!

I am such a fan of Biossance, as I have written about them more than once. Their products are 100% non toxic, meaning that Biossance has banned over 2,000 common cosmetic ingredients that are potentially harmful. That’s a huge deal, because what we put on our skin is important…it’s our largest organ. There is enough toxic and harmful ingredients in chemotherapy drugs, and this is such a great product to use while going through it and forever after it.

Cancer isn’t pretty at all, and going through chemo adds insult to injury, but in a lot of cases, it is the only answer. What I found, was that chemo really dried out my skin. Having a product that helps with that dryness is essential, and The Nourisher is one of those products. It is a face oil that contains oil soluble Vitamin C that delivers the pure benefits of Vitamin C, plus has precious rose oil to rejuvenate the skin while fighting free radicals. It doesn’t make you feel greasy either. I also love The Revitalizer, a weightless all in one body oil that can be used from head to toe. It hydrates and locks in moisture.

Because Biossance cares, they are partnering with Fighting Pretty, to donate 5% of all sales from Biossance.com purchases to Fighting Pretty. All orders will include a free mini The Nourisher. And…Biossance will give my readers 10% off with the code..LOVECATHY10.

I have dressed up a little more than usual because of this “fighting pretty” idea. Isn’t this silk bow blouse gorgeous? It’s from a brand out of London called Winser London. The blouse is made from their stretch silk, and can be worn in several different ways. The tie is detachable, so it can either be left off, or tied the way you like. They feature several different ways to tie it HERE. It’s just so girly!

Thank you all for reading this post and to Biossance for helping in the fight for a cure!
