MY BEAUTY “HAIRITAGE” WITH MY MOM AND PANTENE
Thank you, Pantene, for sponsoring this post!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pantene. All opinions are 100% mine.
Happy Friday! I don’t know about you all, but I am excited that the sun is shining and Spring is here in Dallas. I know it’s a tad early, but I want to get out some Spring decor and my favorite Orange Blossom candle to start burning. And I am over the pine and wood smell until next winter. I am so excited to be partnering with Pantene Hair Care to introduce you to the new Nutrient Blends Collection. This is a beautiful collection made of ingredient blends inspired by different cultures from around the world.
I invited my mom to join me in this post because Pantene asked me where my beauty “Hairitage” (don’t’ you love that?) came from. Of course, my mom was the only person I thought of. This lady right here has taught me about beauty and taking care of myself for as long as I can remember. She is and has always been the “quintessential” big-haired Texas woman! My first memories about beauty from my mom were when I was about four or five. She had several wigs in different colors that she would wear out with my dad. I also remember the “Beehive” hairstyle that she had that would have given Dolly Parton a run for her money!
I know it’s where the saying, “The higher the hair, the closer to God” came from!
When I got to middle school, I remember my mom letting me shave my legs and experiment with blue eye shadow (not my best look!). During high school is when she really taught me how to take care of my skin and hair. That was the time I got into a regimen with certain skincare products and also took care of my highlighted “Farrah Fawcett” ‘do. True story, I was a cheerleader in my senior year and during football season, before a pep-rally, my mom would get me out of school before lunch (I think I had a lot of doctors’ appointments!), have my hot rollers plugged in, and a sandwich made for me when I got to the house! I would go back to school and check-in with my Farrah Flip!
As I have gotten older and gone through several (Ahem!) decades since then, my mom has always been the one that I ask about skincare or skin issues, even now! She has a black belt in the topic and has tried EVERY product on the market! Honestly, she is the one that should be writing a beauty blog. Unlike me, she has never had any work done, not even botox, and is having a huge birthday in April.
I have always referred to her as a “Freak of Nature” because she never ages!
The woman has beautiful skin and the thickest hair that saved her from a head injury (which is a whole other story)! I think that having a mom that is so into beauty and products is where I get a love for it. I just grew up around it, and I never thought there was any other way.
Pantene Nutrient Blends
Now, let me tell you about this fantastic Nutrient Blends Collection from Pantene. I have been trying the Fortifying Damage Repair shampoo and conditioner. This combo strengthens the hair from damage and gives it a smoother and less frizzy look. There is a blend of pro-vitamin B5, antioxidants, and castor oil in this duo that is also safe for color-treated hair. Oh, and it smells amazing! I feel like my hair is a lot less frizzy and a lot smoother after using it.
There are different shampoos and conditioners in this collection for whatever your hair needs. All of these products are free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, dyes, and mineral oil, which makes me so happy! You can find the Castor Oil Collection HERE.
We still like to share which products we are using or have discovered. It was, so fun to sit and deliberately chat with my mom about all things beauty and I love that Pantene gave me a reason to do it! Who in your life taught you about beauty, or did you even care about it? I’m so lucky that my beauty mentor is this beautiful and fun woman!
I hope you all have a great weekend! xx
Thank you, Pantene, for sponsoring this post!

Cathy your mom is beautiful. If you age like her (and it looks like you will) you have nothing to worry about.
My mom was beautiful too (no wrinkles) but she didn’t teach me about makeup and looking after my skin. I had to learn by making a lot of mistakes first.

Cathy, she’s absolutely striking. I don’t want to assess women to only their beauty… so I’m sure she’s generous, smart like you, and loads of fun… AND she’s beautiful!
