CHIC AT EVERY AGE- OTK BOOTS AND SCARVES

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and stayed warm! It was so cold here in Dallas (and that doesn’t happen very much), but I really enjoyed it because it really felt like Christmas! Then yesterday was warm again…Texas weather! Today the Chic at Every Age girls and I are showing OTK boots and scarves. Don’t let them intimidate you! Just because we might be a little older,”wiser”, doesn’t mean we can’t wear them. There are a few ways I would suggest wearing them. I think they look best with jeans and a jacket or long cardigan to offset the boldness of the boot. If you have short legs, I would suggest getting a pair with some sort of a heel, to elongate the leg. If you do wear them with a dress, make sure the hem touches the top of the boot or is a tiny bit shorter (don’t want to look like a hooker!) . The boot should be the main focal point of the outfit!
Scarves can add so much to an outfit, but can be a little confusing too! I love the color of this Elizabeth Gillett one I am wearing. I have had a lot of family members and friends ask me how to wear them. Honestly, I usually wear them the way I am wearing above most of the time, but instead of me trying to explain, Nordstrom did a teaching video Here that is awesome!
Brooke- One Small Blonde, wore what I think is a pretty perfect choice for wearing OTK boots. The longer cardigan looks great with her slouchier pair.
Sam- Style of Sam, paired hers with a great sweater that is shorter in the front and longer in back. I love the way the back flows when she walks.
Heather- So Heather, paired her gray boots with a tucked in black sweater, keeping it very minimal.
I wore my boots (they are older Stuart Weitzman) with the plaid jacket I ordered to wear for Thanksgiving (remember here?). Unfortunately it is sold out (I tried to tell you all!), but I linked a few others below that I like. I hope you can see the tiny gold choker I am wearing. It’s from Argento Vivo and is the Fe’ choker. It’s the greatest piece to wear alone or layer, and at $38, makes a great gift.
I don’t think the OTK trend is going away any time soon. They can look a little intimidating, but if you keep it simple on top, they really are a great look, plus they keep you warmer! I hope you all have a great Monday and get much accomplished! Thank you so much for reading! xx
