GALENTINE’S DAY WITH CHIC AT EVERY AGE
Happy Friday! I hope this week has been good for you. It started off good for me, then by the middle of the week, things went South! First though…let me talk about Galentine’s Day with Chic at Every Age. Urban Dictionary’s definition of Galentine’s Day is… “the other half of Valentine’s Day, when you celebrate your love for your lady friends”! Since it is the month of Love, we decided to have a Galentine’s night and celebrate our new 20 something, Chic at Every Age member. I am so happy to introduce you to Natalie Keinan of The Fashion Hour . Natalie is adorable with a fun sense of style and personality. I love the way she describes herself…a Texas raised-half Cuban, ex-soccer player, bargain shopper, and happy hour hopping gal! We are so happy to have her in our group!
Natalie- The Fashion Hour – 20 something
Sam- Style of Sam– 30 something
Heather- So Heather -40 something
Me- Grandma of the group
Since Galentine’s Day is a day to celebrate the love of your friends, I have to say that these girls are why I love blogging. Had I not started down this path, I would have never met them. They have become some of my very best friends and I love them dearly!!! So what do you do for Galentine’s Day? You go get cocktails and celebrate friendships. We went to a new “it” spot in Dallas, nestled in Highland Park Village called the Honor Bar. It’s small, cozy and warm feeling on the inside, and has an amazing patio and fireplace outside. So often, we get together to shoot but don’t have time to catch up. This night, we sat for hours talking and had so much fun! This was my first time to do a Galentine’s Day and as sappy as it sounds, we really should celebrate our friendships!
Why did my week turn South? My dad fell and is in the hospital. He badly broke his left shoulder (broke the right one six months ago from another fall) and has a nasty gash on his head. My heart just aches for him and my mom. He is 78, which doesn’t even seem that old to me, but it’s hard seeing your parents age. I know I am so lucky to still have them, but it’s hard at the same time.
I hope you all have a great weekend and thank you so much for reading! xx

Great idea- have never heard the term Galentine’s Day! Although I am happily married to a wonderful man (who loves to shop, BTW,) I have lots of friends who would love this concept. A fun celebration of your girl friends on V-Day- a day that gets so overblown by media and retail and can be hard to take when you’re feeling left out.

Cathy,
Prayers for a quick and complete recovery for your Dad. Know how this feels and it’s tough right now. This time next week he will have this part behind him and that will be good.
