VALENTINE’S DAY FAVORITES

Hi Everyone! I’m sure you all watched the Super Bowl. I really didn’t care much about who won, but I did want to see Lady Gaga and the commercials. Lady Gaga did not disappoint, and my favorite commercial was T-Mobile’s parody of ” Fifty Shades of Grey. What did you all think? Since Valentine’s Day is next week, I thought I would show you some of my favorite VD themed items. We don’t make a big deal about Valentine’s Day. It’s usually a card, a small gift and a nice dinner somewhere. Do you all do it up big? When my kids were little, I would go all out, but now we usually give them a gift card to their favorite restaurant. It’s always something, right!?
One idea for gifts, is a new website I just discovered. It’s called Just Hit Send. They put together a beautiful gift box with some great gifts and send it to your recipient. Most boxes are under $100 too! How simple is that! Check out their Valentine’s Day gifts here. And…if you are not the best at keeping up with birthdays, anniversaries, or anything in between, they have a “never forget” program. You just fill in the dates of the most important gifting occasions, and they send you a reminder the week before. I think that is brilliant!
My week is going to be a busy one. My dad was moved from the hospital to a rehab facility. He will be there for a few weeks. He is in so much pain, and it’s so hard to watch. I am not questioning God at all, (because I know he has this whole life thing covered), but I just don’t understand why aging has to be so hard. I will be back and forth for visits, then throw in doc appointments (for me) and the rest, and it’s a busy week. Hope you have a great Monday!!! xx

No, I didn’t watch the SB! My husband (thank goodness) isn’t interested in football either so we had a lovely late lunch & went to see the film “Lion.” It was beyond excellent. We did watch a few commercials on line later on- I liked the Mercedes commercial produced by the Coen Bros and the 84 Lumber commercial about the Mexican immigrants- so poignant! I hope your dad recovers from his pain- it’s so hard, I know! Happy V-Day- the world needs more love!

Hi Susan! I actually love that you didn’t watch it! I really didn’t care if I saw it, but my husband wanted to watch. Glad to know that “Lion” was beyond!!! Thank you for your sweet words about my dad! I am with you on the world needing more love! Hope you have a great day Susan and thank you for reading my blog!!! xoxo

I liked Lady Gaga’s performance. While patriotic, it was not political. She always puts on a great show!
We no longer do anything special for Valentine’s Day. I think it’s important to show the love every day, not just because it’s been deemed Valentine Day. A “just because” gift means so much more to me.
It must be very hard to see your dad in so much pain. I pray he makes a good recovery.
If celebrating Valentine’s Day, have a good one everyone!

I’m so sorry about your dad, Cathy. It’s never easy to watch someone you love in pain.
