BLUE LEOPARD BLAZER
Here we are back on Monday! I hope you all had a fun weekend! We (I) had too much wine this weekend! I try to curtail it, but I can’t say no when we go out for dinner or are with friends. I have been warned by my oncologist that it is probably not the best thing for me, but life is short and I just love red wine. It’s not like I drink a ton. I only have one glass, maybe 3 or 4 times a week, except for that trip to Italy and two nights this past week (eeks). I sound like I am at a confessional! Anyway, it was a fun weekend that ended in a meditation class (can’t wait to do it again) and dinner with my grandchildren, their mama, and my youngest son’s fiancee.
Y’all are going to be sick of seeing me in jackets and blazers. I am a jacket/blazer girl come the fall. I want every single one I see. I saw this gorgeous blue leopard blazer walking through Banana Republic a few weeks back and thought it would be fun to take to New York. I took it, wore it, and love it! It’s a boyfriend style fit, meaning a little boxy and a longer length. It’s a great one for wearing over skinnies or leggings. Leopard prints are everywhere, but I liked that it was in a color (I bought the size 0 for sizing). Banana Republic is having a big Friends and Family sale right now, so it’s a great time to snag this or one of their other cute jackets (not sure how long the sale will last). I am a sucker for leopard print, so I might have to break down and get this one too.
Not only are you going to get sick of seeing jackets, but I’m afraid that the velvet jeans and my loafers may get on your nerves as well. Apologizing ahead of time! I love both of them, so I plan to wear the crap out of them. The jeans are such a great fit, and you know how much I love the loafers. If you spend a bit more on something, I think you should get your money’s worth! I’m also going to be carrying this bag a lot too! It’s new but old. I bought it used at The Real Real. I promise it looks like no one ever carried it! Now if Mother Nature would just send the heat away, I would be a bit more comfortable in my Fall clothes!
Hope you all have a great Monday! xx

What a cute blazer! I’m so happy the longer cuts are making a comeback.

Hi Cathy – glad you had a fun weekend!
I love the color of this blazer and the fun pattern. This is the kind of piece I love, that one standout item that elevates everything you put it together with. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,
Deborah

Cathy, As always we have similar taste in clothes and brands. I’ve always been a black velvet jeans, Anne Fontaine and a tailored white shirt with cuffs girl. As far as the wine goes… My oncologist said the same thing but I also know that breast cancer, regardless of type or stage, has a mind of its own. If stress and grief would bring about recurrence, I’d already be there so… Im living my life on my terms… which except for 16 days in Italy (I’m writing this from the Rome airport), I have a great diet, workout with a trainer 3 days a week and drink moderately. XOXOX, Brenda

Hi there! I just stumbled upon your page (love it!) when I was googling this same BR blazer. I just bought it and think it’s fabulous, but am not sure I’ll be able to carry off a white button-down underneath it (I’m far from a size zero and quite busty). Do you think this could work with a black cami? I need something a bit more streamlined and I plan to wear this jacket over the holidays in NYC.
Thanks so much!

Hi, Elisse! Happy Holidays! I am so glad you found my blog! I love that blazer!!! I definitely think you can wear it with a black cami underneath. I think that would look great, and I have actually worn a black tank with mine. I don’t know if you are a turtleneck girl, but that would be nice too! I hope you have a great holiday month and enjoy every moment! Thank you for writing in! xx
