Hi, everyone! There’s something about getting dressed with a girlfriend that makes style feel fun again—and when that girlfriend is your LA bestie, Janet,  you know it’s going to be good. On my latest trip, we both fell hard for these beautifully tailored shirts from Rag & Bone—and instead of styling them the same way, we each put our own spin on them.  I paired this beautiful brown-and-white striped shirt with a lightweight cashmere cardigan draped over my shoulders, wide-leg white denim, and my everyday accessories. It’s a little more relaxed and playful. Isn’t it funny how the same shirt can look totally different depending on how you style it? What I love most is how the look feels current without chasing trends. It’s confident, easy, and still comes across as chic.

 Janet paired her striped shirt with a softly structured blazer and wide-leg denim for a look that feels equal parts tailored and easy. And, can we talk about my mom for a minute? We just celebrated her 86th birthday the past weekend. How in the world does the woman look like this at 86? We tell her that she is a “freak of nature” and a unicorn! She has never had a facelift (only her eyes done at age 45). It’s just incredible to me that she is this perfect at 86! See, ladies, this is what having a great attitude, wine, cigarettes (they are candy!), and a lot of skincare does! I hope I look like her at 86!

I am still wiped out from last weekend! We kept our California granddaughters for one night while their parents went to Birmingham for my daughter’s 2oth high school reunion. I never slept that night and got up on Sunday to get everything ready for my mom’s birthday dinner. Why does it take so long to recover? Okay…I know the answer to that question! We are headed to Montana next week to open up our place and spend a few days resting. Yay!
