THE SPRING DRESSES I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW (Effortless, Chic & Over 50-Friendly)

DRESS // SWEATER // SANDALS (similar) // BAG

DRESS // JACKET (similar)// BAG  (same bag different color)// SHOES

Spring dressing is one of those things that sounds easier than it actually is. The weather is unpredictable, layers feel bulky, and somehow getting dressed can take longer than it should (raising my hand here!). That’s exactly why I lean into dresses this time of year. They’re simple, flattering, and instantly make you look like you tried—without actually trying too hard. And lately, I’ve found myself reaching for a few key styles on repeat (like the two I am showing)… the kind that feel current, comfortable, and just polished enough.

At this stage, I’m all about pieces that make getting dressed easier—not harder. And the right dress does exactly that. These are the styles I’ve been loving lately because they feel current, comfortable, and effortlessly chic—no overthinking required. If you’re looking to refresh your spring wardrobe, start here. One great dress really can change everything.

Today I’m sharing the spring dresses I’ve been loving lately—and why they work so well.

THE EASY MIDI DRESS

This is the one I grab when I don’t want to think.

A great midi dress hits that sweet spot—not too short, not too long—and it works with everything from sneakers to sandals to a low heel. I especially love styles that skim the body without clinging.

Why I love it:

Midi dresses are easy to dress up or down,  they are flattering without being fussy, and they work for day or night

Styling tip: Add a denim jacket, a lightweight blazer, or a cardigan, and you’re done.

THE SHIRTDRESS UPDATED

The shirt dress has come a long way—and I am here for it.

Look for versions with a little structure or a defined waist so it doesn’t feel boxy. A crisp cotton or linen blend makes it feel elevated instead of overly casual. I’m wearing this striped one.

Why it works:

A shirt dress looks polished, but it still feels relaxed. They are perfect for travel and daytime plans, and they feel timeless rather than trendy. I just got this one (comes in navy too), and I adore it!

Styling tip: Roll the sleeves, add a belt if needed, and pair with a sleek sandal.

A SOFT FLORAL, BUT NOT TOO SWEET

Florals for spring? Yes, but with a twist.

I’ve been loving florals that feel a little more refined—think muted tones, larger prints, or even darker backgrounds. It keeps the look modern instead of overly girly.

What to look for:

When choosing a floral, look for softer color palettes, fewer ruffles and more structure, and clean silhouettes.

Styling tip: Keep accessories minimal so the print feels elevated.

THE LIGHTWEIGHT KNIT DRESS

This is the dress that surprises people.

A lightweight knit can be incredibly flattering and comfortable—without looking clingy (no thank you!) if you choose the right fabric and fit. The one I’m wearing is this one.

Why I keep reaching for it:

Knit dresses feel a little like loungewear, but have a polished look. They are great for layering and perfect for travel days, plus… they are a cinch to pack and take up less room.

Styling tip: Add a longer layer (like a trench) for a sleek, elongated look.

THE THROW ON AND GO

It’s the dress you reach for when you’re running out the door but still want to look pulled together. Think relaxed, breathable, and easy.

Why this dress is essential:

There is zero effort into getting dressed, but this dress has a maximum impact. It is a great style for everyday errands or casual lunches. And, it’s easy to pack and travel with too!

Styling tip: A great pair of sunglasses and a structured bag instantly elevate it.

I am on a plane heading home from LA after a fun weekend with one of my best friends (Janet Gunn). We hosted an event at Madison Maison (our dear friend who has the most beautiful shoes, available HERE too! ). I have not been to LA since my daughter moved to Ojai Valley almost two years ago. It was so much fun catching up with Janet and the group of influencers that came in for this event. We did this same event about three years ago, and it was just as fun. Janet planned out every minute of the fun weekend (except my new sassy haircut), and I am so tired heading back, but you know what they say… (whoever they are!) that “You can sleep when you are dead.” I have to remind myself of that from time to time.

I hope you have a great week! Stay well and Be safe! xx
