A PERFECT DRESS THAT WAS MADE FOR HOT TEMPERATURES

A PERFECT DRESS THAT WAS MADE FOR HOT TEMPERATURES

Happy Friday, ladies! It’s a sad day for us as we return to Dallas’s heat. The weather finally got cooler in Aspen on Tuesday, and it felt like it should in the summer in Colorado. We stayed at the Hotel Jerome until Wednesday and moved over to stay with our grandkids (and their parents) until today. We are saying goodbye to them until the middle of August. It’s going to be a little lonely in Dallas until then. We do have my in-laws in town now, which will be an adjustment for all of us. They better get ready for a lot of activity!

PERFECT DRESS FOR HOT TEMPS

Since we are headed back to the heat (104, to be exact), I thought I would show a perfect dress made for hot temperatures. This dress from Banana Republic is a stunning and lightweight maxi made of a semi-sheer voile fabric woven of cotton and a little silk (it comes in a pretty blue zebra print too). It has adjustable shoulder straps and a shirred waist and is beautiful as it moves. I usually would wear a lightweight jacket over the dress, but it was so hot when we shot this that I couldn’t do it! I will be honest; I’m not sure I would suggest this dress for a larger busted girl (I’m around a 34B-C round implant!!!). I paired the dress with a Veronica Beard embellished sandal (on sale) that I have worn with so much and a precious beaded crochet bag.

I’m unsure if you have been in (or looked online) a Banana Republic store lately. I feel like they are going back to their roots a little bit. I’ve noticed more “safari-type” styles. Their fabrics seem better, and the suede, leather, and cashmere are beautiful! A few more dresses that you should check out on their site are this chic linen maxi shirtdress, this linen midi dress, and this denim dress. I also love this French-cuff shirt, this beautiful linen blouse (reminds me of a Zimmerman style), the ($80) perfect shirt, this slub v-neck tee, and this linen skirt.

What are your plans for the weekend? I can tell you what I’m planning on doing…taking a few naps! I do not sleep well in high altitudes and away from my bed and pillow. I’m also getting a manicure! I got dip on my nails for the first time about three weeks ago and my nails look awful! I’m one of those people that wants to start picking them off, but I’m restraining and waiting until tomorrow.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Stay well and Be safe! xx
