Most of my days consist of sitting at home in my jeans and t-shirt in front of my computer. But there are days when I have a jam-packed schedule and can’t get home to change. I know some of you may have jobs where you are at an office and have to be somewhat pulled together. Let’s be real… We are living in a more relaxed society. Remember the days of getting dressed up to fly or in my case dressing up for class during my college years? (Okay, we did that at SMU). While it’s still appropriate to be dressed accordingly for jobs, restaurants, cocktail parties, and even some churches (that’s weird to say!). We tend to do it more casually now. What I like about Ann Taylor, is that you can find your ‘”very” business looking attire (if that’s how you roll). Or pretty pieces that can be dressed up and down that will not cost a fortune.

Separates offer multiple ways to dress

Take the outfit I am wearing. It is a gorgeous green top and skirt that can be worn together or separately. I added the belt to give it more shape at the waist. What I love about this outfit, besides it being so darn comfortable and easily packable. It is less than $150! Also, I can wear it as two different pieces. The top could be worn over a black skirt or pants and with a turtleneck underneath. The skirt could be worn with a black turtleneck or button down. There are several possibilities.

This outfit can definitely go from work to dinner effortlessly. I picked these booties to wear with it because I wanted to edge it up a bit, but I would love a strappy suede sandal with it as well. If I hadn’t bought the outfit I am wearing, I would have bought this dress or this shirtdress (now I’m thinking I may go back and get the floral!).
