Good Morning, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful in Dallas and not as chilly as it has been. My husband was out of town the entire weekend, but I did manage to have a fantastic time on Friday night! I was asked to go to the FGI (Fashion Group International) Night of Stars dinner, where individuals or business leaders are honored for their contribution of achievement in the world of fashion, beauty, and interior design. My favorite designers and brand are Veronica Beard, and they were presented with the Career Achievement in Fashion Award. Y’all, I got to sit at the table with them! I have met them several times before, but they are the sweetest and most down to earth women. The entire evening was so much fun. Cameron Silver of Decades in Los Angeles was the emcee and was adorable in a silver and black Dolce & Gabbana tux and cowboy hat. Angie Harmon, who was raised in Dallas, got the Career Achievement In Entertainment Award. I have met her several times through her cousin, who is a friend, and she could not be nicer or more beautiful! Sitting at the Veronica Beard table was a huge treat, but getting to see Bob Mackie up close was another one. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and could not have been cuter or more humble. Anyway, it was a night that I won’t forget!
Today, I wanted to show how I wore a cardigan that I bought and belted it for a different look. I have lots of cardigans in my closet, but I thought this black studded one was so much fun. It’s a bit oversized, so I thought belting it would give it a different look and me some shape. We probably all have longer or boxier cardigans in our closets, and belting them is a fun way to give them a new look. I buttoned my cardigan, but the rule of thumb, if your cardigan has buttons, it’s generally correct to button the middle and the one above and below. If you haven’t noticed, the waist is having a moment again with paper-bag pants, skirts, and belts.
I am going to start trying to buy at least one gift a day so that I don’t feel so stressed come the middle of December. I try to shop at places that wrap the gift because I am over wrapping paper and figuring out where to store it! I’m planning on putting up my tree this week. Anyone else done it?
Have a great day, everyone! xx
