CASHMERE, SILK, AND CYBER MONDAY SALES

Happy Monday, gang! How was your Thanksgiving? We had such a wonderful weekend and Thanksgiving day. Also, we had a dance party in the kitchen, lots of champagne, a nice long walk to the park and run around with the dogs, and so much love and joy in the house! So, on Friday, the girls braved the shopping for a bit. Unfortunately, none of us bought anything that was a Black Friday deal (why does that always work out that way?). By Saturday, the whole crew was wiped out. Thank goodness there was football to be watched all day long because that is what we did. It was so sad to say goodbye to everyone from out of town yesterday. We won’t be spending Christmas with the out-of-town grandkids but will see them soon after.

Styling My Outfit

Today, I wanted to show you all two of my favorite pieces from Banana Republic. Have you all seen their new collections? I’m not sure about other cities, but Banana Republic did a re-do at the store near me, and it is gorgeous! They have a fabulous cashmere collection that is reasonably priced, from scarves and glove set to cozy throw blankets. I love the sweater that I am wearing. It is soft and comfortable and comes in several other beautiful colors (the lavender and jade are stunning). I think this slip dress is so fun too. Also, I paired the sweater over it, but it’s super cute with a turtleneck under it or jacket (jacket is 50% off!)over it. I have been so impressed with Banana Republic of late!

A few more Banana Republic items that I think are fab are this reversible poncho, shawl-collar cardigan, quilted half-zip anorak, satin ruffle wrap dress, and this long water-repellent puffer coat. Today, I will be spending the afternoon at the hospital having a pre-surgery workup.

I have to have blood work and an EKG. I am having surgery on Thursday. Not the best time of the year to do it, right? I am having my ovaries and tubes taken out. My ovarian cancer antigen blood test has gone up for the past two summers, and it’s getting close to the “not normal” range. My gynecologist said it was past time to get those ovaries taken out. I thought about getting a complete hysterectomy, but my doctor doesn’t think it’s necessary, so I am listening to her. So, I will catch back up with you all on Saturday or next week.
