Hi, everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was a WHIRLWIND, but super fun! I got back to Dallas about 2:00 on Friday, and when I entered my house, it was playtime with the grandkids. We hung out until we went for a huge Mexican food dinner, then ice cream afterward. Saturday, the kids had playdates, and I had much to catch up on until we left for the wedding we were attending. Yesterday we had a big family brunch, and then the kids were off to the airport back to Ohio. No rest for the weary, because as soon as they left, a friend from out of town arrived to stay the night. I hadn’t seen her in two years, and it was such a gift to catch up and spend time with her. Never a dull moment around here! I am so happy to be partnering with Nordstrom today to show you my favorite check blazers and cashmere sweaters.
I can’t get enough checks and plaids in the fall, and it’s finally cool enough to wear them in Dallas. It’s no secret that I love Veronica Beard blazers. They always fit me, and they are continually coming out with new colors and patterns. I want all of them! Anyway, I bought the blazer a few weeks ago in the store (Nordstrom), and I’m sorry to say that it’s no longer available online, but…you all know that I am not going to leave you high and dry without showing you other blazers that are similar that will give you the same look.
Fall is my favorite season because I love the colors, pumpkin spice everything, and fall fashion, particularly checks, plaids, and cashmere. Checks and plaids scream fall to me, and I love to wear them from jackets to shoes. I also love cashmere sweaters. Of course, they are super soft, but I am allergic to wool, and so cashmere it is for me! It used to be that if you wanted a cashmere sweater, they were so expensive. Now, you can find cashmere sweaters that don’t cost a fortune. You might not get the finest cashmere, but if you are allergic like me, it’s still cashmere. Everlane has a pop-up in Nordstrom now, and I honestly love their cashmere. It is pill-resistant and affordable.
So, to replicate this outfit, I would substitute this blazer, sweater, jeans, and loafers. Another look could be this blazer, sweater, jeans, and pumps. Any plaid blazer mixed with a solid sweater and jeans will give you this look. Also, adding a great loafer will finish off the outfit, and my Gucci loafers are going on two years old and are still classics!
After the busy week and weekend I had, I wish I could take today and catch up on laundry and chill but that is not going to happen. I have two shoots today and some work I need to get done. There is always tomorrow, right? I hope you all have a great Monday! xx
