CHIC AT EVERY AGE- RUCHED SLEEVE TOP
Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! It’s Chic at Every Age time, and this week we are showing this fun ruched sleeve top. If you are new to the blog, this is a series that I do with the bloggers above. We are all in different decades, so we take a piece of clothing or a look and style it the way “our” age might wear it. Each one of us gets to choose the item on a rotation. When I first pulled this top out of the box, I was clearly thinking I should add a fruit head piece a la Carmen Miranda. It wasn’t as extreme as I thought once I put it on. This top is really fun and such a statement piece. Do you remember me talking about how much I love a statement sleeve HERE? Well, this is definitely that! The top is also a wrap top, that can be positioned down on the shoulder like Sam and Heather did above. It comes in pink, navy and black, and is only $68.
I chose to dress mine up with a wide leg culotte and heels. And clearly, Sam, Heather and I were thinking that this top deserved a black choker! I would wear it with jeans as well, and think it would be adorable with a high waisted pencil skirt.
Brooke – One Small Blonde, went with a dressier vibe too, with black pants and a strappy heel.
Sam – Style of Sam, looks ever so chic with her uneven hem denim, Chanel pumps and beautiful new Chanel bag! How adorable are those sunnies on her?
Heather – So Heather, looks sexy as always, in her ripped denim and Chanel mules. Those shoes are “killer” with the pearl and snake on on the heel!
It was really blah in Nashville over the weekend, with lots and lots of heavy rain (which meant a few more glasses of red wine than usual!) I am so happy to see the sun this morning! Hope your Monday is a sunny one!!! Thank you for reading this blog! xx

Love, love, love how you styled this. The top looks amazing and the black pants and heels are the perfect compliment. They are stylish and unique, without competing with the top. Fantastic!

The top looks great, but I wouldn’t like to iron it.

Hi Cathy,
I have been reading your blog for a year but never commented. I enjoy your style and your insights so much, thank you for sharing your talent on your blog. You look gorgeous in this outfit, as usual.
I noticed all four of you have what I would consider small purses. During the day I run around with a fairly large bag. Small bags are usually reserved for the evening or special daytime events. I would love to see a post on mixing it up with daytime bags, maybe even fall and winter styles to make it timely. All of a sudden I’m feeling a bit frumpy with my giant shoulder bag.
Kind regards,
Joan
P.S. In a perfect world everything you show on your blog woukd magically appear in my closet and I would never have to think about shopping again!

Hahaha! I totally get where you are coming from Joanna! I would not like to iron either! I have a steamer, and everything I own is steamed! Thank you for the comment!!! xoxo

Hi Joan! First off, thank you for being a reader of my blog, I so appreciate it! Second, thank you for your sweet comments!!! Third, don’t get rid of your big day bag! I agree with you, that small bags are generally carried at night or maybe for luncheons and church. On our or my posts, we generally show how we would wear an outfit, and if it looks better or more appropriate with a small bag, that’s what we will pick.
I am such a big bag girl! I carry so much “stuff” in my bag, so I like bigger too! I love my big bags, but since my mastectomy, I have had to carry strictly crossbodys or shoulder bags. My docs warned that carrying anything heavy on my right arm can still cause lymphedema (3 years later???). I have a few beautiful big bags that are just sitting in my closet! I will tell you though, that a few of the girls in the post with me, can carry those small bags everywhere. Not me! Keep carrying your bag, just change it up every once in a while!
P.S. I am cleaning out my closet, and wish that some things would magically appear in your closet!!! Thank you so much for commenting!!! xoxo

Hi Cathy, thank you for taking time to reply. You do such a great job with your blog. (I have one too so I know how much time they take.)
Thank you for your thoughts on bags. I am a breast cancer survivor too.
Best,
Joan

Hi Joan! Thank you so much for being such a cheerleader!!! You are a gorgeous artist!!! I’m glad you understand what goes into writing one. Oh my goodness…we are sisters! When and what kind of breast cancer did you have? Honestly, the best part of my blog is getting connected with other survivors! I am thankful that you are a Survivor!!!!!! xoxo

I have a steamer too, but it does not work properly. It is small, hand steamer. Maybe that’s the reason.
Best regards 🙂
