Happy Monday! How was your weekend? The weather was a little bi-polar but other than that; we had a great one! We started it out at Park House on the terrace, and the weather could not have been prettier. We had dinner reservations for eight o’clock but did not go in until nine because it was so nice outside. We don’t get many of those nice breezy nights in Dallas and wanted to enjoy it. Saturday was a downpour, so I napped and stayed in all day, and last night was the dinner for my parent’s anniversary. Today, I am partnering up with Bloomingdale’s to show the cutest linen outfit and new pieces from Eileen Fisher.
Linen is the most cooling fabric to wear in the summer
I love linen in the summer, especially in Dallas, because it is the coolest fabric to wear when it is hot as Hades, and Eileen Fisher has the cutest pieces for spring and summer. What I like a lot about this linen is that it is all organic and pre-washed for a relaxed feel. I got the blazer first because I loved that relaxed feeling look it has. I was attracted to the color I am wearing, but it comes in white too, which would, of course, go with everything! I was tempted to get the matching cropped pants, but I chose the white linen A-line skirt (because of the before mentioned, that it gets hot as Hades here, and I can fan a skirt!). I will tell you that the skirt runs big, so order a size down. I had mine altered a little bit too. This skirt is also made from organic linen and washed for a relaxed feel.
My favorite pieces from Eileen Fisher
I wanted to show you a few more items from Eileen Fisher’s spring collection that I am drawn to, like this cute linen jumpsuit. It comes in black too. Wouldn’t it be so fun at the beach? I want to order this skirt now. It wasn’t available a few weeks ago, and I think it is so cute! I would wear it with a tank or tee all summer long! I think this silk dress is beautiful and could be dressed up or down depending on your shoes. I also love a shirtdress, and this one comes in black and a gorgeous green. Another piece that I think is handy to have during the summer months is this linen cropped poncho top which can be worn over everything. I would wear every color tank under this top.
The sandals I am wearing constantly
I paired my linen pieces with a light blue tee, and these Sam Edelman sandals that have already more than paid for themselves. I wear them constantly. I just got this pair delivered after I shot these photos, so get ready to see them a lot too! They come in four other beaded prints.
My parents had so much fun, and so did we celebrating their sixty years of marriage last night! Sixty years is a fricking long time! I asked my dad what the secret to sixty years was, and he said “vodka”! My mom said, “wine”! Have they had a perfect marriage all of these years, no, but who does? The fact that they have been committed to each other is such a blessing. My dad has Parkinson’s and can’t even stand up by himself anymore. He can’t talk very well, and he chokes every time he puts something in his mouth, but my mom is always right there to help him. She is so selfless and has pretty much given up her life to take care of him. That’s what real love and commitment is!
I hope you all have a great Monday! xx
Thank you to Bloomingdales, for sponsoring this post.
