Good Morning Everyone! Today I wanted to show you this fun mixed floral embroidered jacket from Alice + Olivia. I knew when I saw it that I had to have it! I could just see all of the colors in my head that I could wear with it. My first thought was a soft peach tee underneath, but then I got home, and this stripe tee was the winner. This jacket is lightweight, making it perfect for the summer, especially in air conditioning. I will wear it with white or any blue denim, but how cute will it be over a tank style dress? The shoes I bought at a store in Dallas (Gregory’s). I thought the color would go with everything, and I have linked a similar pair below. Obviously, if you have read any post of mine recently, you can tell that I am obsessed with the earring I am wearing. I think I have bought most every color except for light pink. Bauble Bar is now making them in a metallic, and I will be ordering those as well! And as luck would have it, they are having a SALE!!!!!
I am still trying to recover from my weekend at the beach. It’s not that I drank too much, it’s that I stayed up later than usual. I was staying with two of my besties that I met when we lived in Birmingham. We were a foursome (the other one was putting on the wedding we attended, so of course she couldn’t stay with us) and it was so wonderful being back together. I met these girls when I still had kids in school. Don’t you feel like some of your best friends are made through your children? When we moved to Dallas, it wasn’t as easy to make friends. Even though I had grown up here and attended college in town, I had lived away for so long, that it was like starting over.
I think it’s hard to move when you are this age, especially if your children are grown. What’s so sweet about “real” friends, is that even though you may not see or talk much, the minute you get back with them, it’s as if you have never been apart. We have lived in several places, and I used to be envious of people that lived in one place and had their friends forever, but moving around has had its blessings. I have great friends in the four cities we have lived in. They are my forever friends and we pick up the second we talk or see each other. Sorry for getting a little sappy… I am still thinking about the weekend and how much I love those girls!
I hope you have a fantastic day! xx
