Hello, ladies! I hope you have had a great week so far! I’ve been playing catch-up after our trip to Ojai Valley last weekend. We had such a good time celebrating our granddaughter turning two. She had a Disney Princess birthday party with three of the Disney princesses in attendance (all the way from LA!), and none of them broke character the entire time! It was funny! We went to Mediation Mount to watch the sunset one night, and it was spectacular! If you visit Ojai, you must go to Meditation Mount. It is such a pretty and tranquil place; the mountains turn pink at sunset! Did you know that Ojai Valley has a calming vortex? You can definitely feel the calmness there!

Today, I wanted to show this fabulous faux fur vest. I’ve worn it several times and had people stop me and ask about it. It looks like the real deal, and the colors are beautiful. This vest is sold out (except in xs), but you can pre-order it HERE. Anything from Donna Sayers’s Fabulous Furs is gorgeous! It’s still chilly in Dallas (of course not today!), but this is the perfect outerwear piece for this time of the year. I paired it with a beautiful knit piece from L’Ageance. I love the navy blue and the button detail on the shoulder (very Balmain-esqe). This lightweight knit comes in black and white as well and is stunning on its own. I bought these jeans recently. I wanted a little longer pair because all the jeans I’ve bought lately are shorter. I really like this light wash.

Let’s discuss Valentine’s Day gifts or just getting ready for VD. I know I’m a little late getting this out, but you all know I was sick and then traveled. I have to introduce you to GATO Dates. One of my daughter’s friends co-founded this brand, featured on the Goop website! She came to Ojai over the weekend with containers of these dates so that we could all try them. OH MY GOSH! These dates are filled with cashew or pistachio butter, dipped in the most incredible dark chocolate, and dusted with sea salt. I have never tasted anything so good. One date is decadent enough to eat just half of it (I did eat the whole thing!). The dates are vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, organic, and paleo-friendly. They are expensive, but once you taste them, you will understand why! These are a lot healthier than a box of VD chocolates!

 

Do you all know about GLASSYBABY candle holders? Glassybaby opened a store at Northpark in Dallas last year. I’ve walked by it a hundred times but have never walked in until yesterday. The reason is that I saw Glassybaby candle holders in a restaurant in Ojai. They are stunning and heavy. Each one is hand-blown, so no two are alike. They are all so lovely and are larger than a standard votive, and come in so many colors. I learned the story yesterday and bought four for my dining table. The founder was diagnosed with lung cancer and was given the gift of a glass cup. She added the votive and said that it gave her light. Glassybaby donates $3 for every votive sold to help people and animals heal. I love this! These would make a nice Valentine’s Day gift!

I’ve not heard from my doctor about the results, but the tech told me that my gallbladder looked good. Unless something else was found, I’m back to square one. I’m going to figure it out!
