Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend! We flew to Nashville on Friday for a wedding and had so much fun! We stayed at The Thompson Nashville, and I highly recommend it, especially if you have never been to Nashville before. It’s close to downtown in an area called The Gulch where you can walk to restaurants and shops. There is a yummy restaurant in the hotel as well as the best coffee shop (Killebrew). I’ve never stayed in a hotel that smelled so good either! The wedding and reception were gorgeous (more flowers than I’ve ever seen) and the rain held off (the ceremony was outside) long enough for the couple to say “I do” and kiss! Today, I’m showing this “Holy Smokes” graphic tee and letting you in on what kind of graphic tees I will wear.
Holy Smokes Which Graphic Tees To Wear?
Graphic tees have come back in a big way this past year, and I am here to embrace them, but only certain ones. Let me preface by saying that this is my own opinion and what I will wear. You, dear reader, can wear anything that you feel comfortable wearing. After turning 50, there are some things that I won’t wear, like jeans ripped at the knee, cut-offs (except at the beach), or cropped tops. I love wearing a graphic tee, but only with the appropriate graphics. I love the “Holy Smokes” tee I am wearing from Mother Denim because it’s so much more fun than just an ordinary black one mixed with the white jeans I am wearing.
Foul Sayings Are Not Okay In My Opinion
So what is not an appropriate graphic tee? I think anything with a foul saying (unless it’s to cancer!) or photo or anything that seems too young (like this) probably shouldn’t be worn on a more mature woman. After that, everything else is fair game (love all of the tees from Unfortunate Portrait). I think graphic tees are just fun expressions that anyone can wear. To make them look more age appropriate, wearing them under a blazer or jacket is an excellent way to incorporate one or with a floral or check skirt or pant. Also, I tend to like a smaller graphics, but do your thing girls!
I suppose everyone has pulled out their white jeans for spring and summer (although you should be wearing them all year round). I needed a few new pairs this year and think the pair I am wearing is fun and different. These jeans are also by Mother denim (super good fit) and look great with a flat or heel.
I’m off to The Exercise Coach for my twenty minutes of weight lifting. I know, it sounds like I am a weenie, but I swear that this program has made me so much stronger and I have muscle definition now (I am so proud)! I highly recommend their workout method, especially if you don’t have a lot of time or you don’t like working out so much. I’m also headed to the cleaners. I wore a dress to the wedding Saturday night that is brand spanking new in a beautiful saffron color that red wine was spilled on. Damn! I hope they can get the stain out!
Have a great day you all! xx
