Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I had such a fun one! I had a friend in from Nashville visiting, so we shopped, talked a lot, and went to dinner both nights. I love when my friends come to visit! I flew to Birmingham yesterday morning to stay with one of my best friends for a few days. She has started a blog, and we are doing a few shots together. I will be introducing her soon! We are also hosting a book signing for another very good friend of mine, which that will be quickly shared as well. Today I wanted to share my top five pieces for holiday dressing. Also, don’t forget to sign up for the $1,000 Gift Card Giveaway at the bottom of this post.
I know you all know that I love velvet! I saw this velvet dress I am wearing and loved the pewter/grey color. I am usually in some jean or pant, but this dress looked so comfortable and did I mention the color??? I like the fact that this dress can be worn with a tee underneath, with a jacket, by itself (if you are comfortable showing your arms), with boots, heels, flats, and sneakers. This is one of those dresses that can be worn so many places. I wore this dress to an art party event a few weeks back with this white jacket over it and the white boots I am wearing here. I am more comfortable buying something that I know I can wear different ways. A side note here, my legs are pasty white, and that’s why I don’t wear dresses very often. I have to self-tan before I will put one on… until now! I have found a product that is a tanner for one day and is easy peasy to use. Vita Liberata Body Blur will be your best friend if you are like Casper or want to hide blemishes on the legs or anywhere!
I think this reversible sequin dress is another great piece to have on hand during the holidays. Remember the dress that broke the internet a few years back? Was it black and blue or white and gold? This dress reminded me of that. It is a black and white stripe, but if you brush the sequins the other way, it can be worn as gold and pewter! It’s a magical dress for a nominal price ($188)!
A white tuxedo jacket and pants are something that in my opinion is the perfect holiday outfit. You could wear a sequin top underneath to give it a glitzier look, a plain satin tank, a tee shirt to dress it down, or nothing at all. I think when you buy a tuxedo jacket, you should get the pants that go with it. That way you always have a suit, but can wear them separately.
This cute bronze pleated skirt is a great piece to have at the ready. Mixed with a solid black turtleneck sweater (you probably already have) and a black boot or pump, you are ready to go! It would also be so cute with a denim shirt for a less dressy look.
The last piece I think you should have ready for the holidays, is a pretty top, like this one. Mixed with a pair of black pants or even white denim with heels, it is perfect for dinner out with friends! Tops are the easiest to add, and this one is another that is on sale!
It’s nice to be prepared for the pop-up invitations you might get and lessen the stress during the holidays, but I’m always hoping someone has a tacky Christmas sweater party!
Hope you all have a wonderful Monday! xx
