Happy Wednesday dear ladies! I hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend (I’m late with that as this is my first post after Easter)! We had such a good one! We attended our church service on Saturday (which was a little different) so that we could get everything done for the Easter Egg hunt for the kids’ and Easter dinner on Sunday. Our son and his family arrived back in town around 11 (they are officially living with us until July!), and my daughter decided to drive in from Austin that morning. My youngest son (minus his wife who was out of town) came over around noon, and we all hung out by the pool and caught up. My parents came over just in time for dinner. It was the perfect Easter day! Today, I wanted to show a super cute pleated dress at a fantastic price.
I saw this pleated dress at H & M at the beginning of last week and grabbed it for two reasons. One, it’s adorable and two, it has a fantastic price! Some of you have emailed me about showing some pieces that are fashion-forward but don’t cost an arm and a leg and honestly, I love that challenge. I believe you can find cute pieces at reasonable prices if you take the time to look. The problem is that most of us are so busy that we don’t have the time and therefore don’t buy or buy something out of our price range. I purchased the dress in the actual store, but it’s unfortunately gone on the website. I did find the same dress in solid colors here (black, cream, green, and yellow) but sizes are selling fast. That’s the problem I have with finding products, shooting them, getting the photos back, then writing the post. Sometimes the pieces sell out super fast. I paired the dress with these espadrilles that I have worn a million times already! I found them in this colorway too!
I have gotten some adorable pieces from H & M (here), and I think Spring and Summer are the best times to buy from stores like H & M or Zara because you aren’t’ buying coats and heavier fabrics that have the potential to look cheap. Their cotton shirts look every bit as good at $12.99 as a $100 cotton shirt. This cute striped cotton blazer is so fun and looks great too! I am adding a few other pieces below that I like that are all under $200. It’s fun to mix high and low together!
I drove back to Austin with my daughter on Monday morning, therefore did not get my post up, as I usually do. She had a baseline mammogram last week and was called back to do more pictures because they saw a calcification. Now, if you know my story, my breast cancer was found from a calcification. She is having more pictures done this morning and wanted me with her. I am not worried because she has fibroids and dense tissue and I am convinced that is what is going on. I am so thankful that she went in for a baseline (she’s thirty-one). I think every woman should have the opportunity (and insurance pay) for a baseline at age thirty. If you are so inclined, please send good thoughts her way this morning and get your mammograms scheduled if you are due!
Have a great day and thank you so much for reading! xx
