Hi, everyone! What a glorious weekend we had in Dallas. I hope wherever you are; it was the same! We had a very chill weekend (which is precisely what I wanted) spending it with my parents on Saturday night and my son, daughter in law, and the grandkids yesterday afternoon and evening. I even got some organizing done. It was a small bit, but at least a start. Today, it’s all about this shimmery blazer from Alice and Olivia with my friend So Heather. Heather is my favorite person to go shopping with. We have different styles (she’s more rock and roll and I am classic with a twist), but we tend to like some of the same pieces. This blazer is one of them. We were in Alice and Olivia, and both grabbed the jacket. We never care if we get the same piece and took advantage of a shoot while we were in New York a few weeks back.
You can’t walk into any store at the moment without seeing shine, shimmer, or sequins. I loved this blazer because of the shimmer and because of the color. I like to wear green, blue, lavender, and spicey tones, but when it comes to something a little more flashy, I would rather be a bit more subdued. This blazer was just that for me. Shimmery but subdued. I like this one too! I paired it with this beautiful blouse ( I went up a size) with the rhinestones down the front and my leather jeans from last year. I found them on sale here, but there are so many “leather looking” pants out there that it’s easy to not spend much on a pair that looks like mine.
Can Y’all believe that there are only eight more weeks until Christmas (sorry to scare you)? That means holiday parties or events most likely will start in about four weeks. It’s not too early to start thinking about a few “holiday outfits” This blazer and blouse are perfect in my opinion. The blazer is so versatile and can be worn with different types of bottoms. The blouse is beautiful on its own with a skirt or a pair of black, white, or shimmery pants. I love it the way Heather wore it with jeans and a band tee as well!
We had such a fun time on this trip to New York. We shopped until we dropped every day. That doesn’t mean that we bought a lot, we wandered the stores for hours just looking. We ate at Gramercy Tavern, Fig and Olive, The Crosby Bar (at the Crosby Hotel), and the BG restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman. Believe it or not, BG is one of my favorite places to eat! We stayed at the Eventi Hotel. It’s not in the best area (Flatiron), but the rooms are super nice and comfortable and so was the price. It was the perfect girl’s trip!
I have a doctors appointment today to look into a procedure that I will be talking about soon. I also have my big oncology appointment tomorrow. I am always glad to get that done and get a green light from my doctor. I get labs done at every appointment and get tested for a cancer antigen. It takes about a week to get that result back, and I am always relieved when I get that result in. I am counting on a low number! I hope you all have a great Monday! Thank you so much for reading! xx
