STARS
Well, good morning, everyone!
I am a day late posting because I had a problem with my WordPress (the platform where I write this blog) this weekend, and I finally got everything ironed out yesterday. I am also late asking how your weekend was? We were out both nights and were supposed to have a low key night Sunday, but that didn’t happen. We walked the Katy Trail (through the middle of Dallas) then met some very good friends at the Katy Trail Ice House for a drink then moved to another spot for dinner. This is not the norm for us, but was one of the best Sunday evenings I’ve ever had!
We came home to catch the middle of the Golden Globes. Did you all watch? Did you have a favorite outfit? I wasn’t completely blown away, but I did like six star’s looks based on appropriateness to their age that I have added at the bottom of the post. But, first, let’s talk about different stars and what I am wearing.
Clean and Classic Styles are what I want right now
I have to admit that I am very much into clean and classic right now. Maybe because I am cleaning out in my home and want to reflect the calm I am trying to achieve there. I saw this black and white star print blouse, and it seemed so simple that I bought it without a thought. Also, I had a black cashmere sweater that I popped over it and paired them with these fun army green denim pants with the black tux stripe down the side. I loved these pants when I saw them, and they are very different from any that I have living in my closet.
These tux pants are so fun
The shirt and sweater can be worn together or separately with just about every bottom I have in my closet. The pants are going to be paired with a floral or print top when I find the right one. Don’t let the green throw you. They will look great with a lot of colors, especially pastels for the spring. The boots I am wearing are honestly the most comfortable pair of boots I’ve worn in the last couple of months. They don’t look like they would be, but I can wear them all day long! They are still a little pricey but are on sale here. I found this pair that looks very similar but for a fraction of the cost.
Something I am going to try to do with every post from now on is find similar pieces at a lesser price point. I hope that I give you ideas with each post but that we can both try to find “the look” for less. If I can find the piece, then I will include in each post.
I am still trying to play catch up from the holidays. I’m slowly cleaning out drawers, cabinets, and closets. I want to be able to look into those places and have them organized instead of cramming them full of stuff. I found a great 30-Day Decluttering Checklist here, that makes me feel a bit calmer about tackling this chore. Maybe it will help you too!
I hope you have a fantastic day! Thank you so much for reading!

Here are my favorite stars at the Golden Globe Awards
I thought Jamie Lee Curtis looked fierce as could be!
Patricia Clarkson looked lovely in this orange gown.
Charlize Theron ALWAYS seems to get it right!
Honestly, I’m not sure who Kiki Layne is, but she is stunning in this soft pink tulle dress from Dior and think this was my favorite of the night.
Nicole Kidman looked so sophisticated in this wine color column dress.
I think Thandie Newton is just amazing in this dress.
What was your favorite?

Love your outfit today. I love the olive green pants and wear that color a lot in the winter with burgundy and with yellow and white in the spring. My favorite dress was Regina King – she looked amazing! I love the idea of doing a lower cost option, as I love a lot of your fashion, but it is a little out of my price range. Thanks for taking the time to do that! Happy New Year!
