SWEATER DRESS AND BOMBER JACKET- EASY TRAVEL PIECES

Hello, ladies! I’ve been MIA due to my recent travel schedule. I think I mentioned it in a previous post, but I’ve never had a fall travel experience quite like this. We are on our last trip until New Year’s. It’s been so much fun, but I am honestly a homebody missing my dogs like crazy. We started our trip in Florence and had a fantastic time. We loved staying at the Hotel Savoy. The room was so cozy, and the hotel is smack in the middle of downtown (across from the carousel, if you know Florence). We left Florence for London (my favorite city), where we stayed at Brown’s. The same group owns Brown’s as the Savoy in Florence. It had the same kind of feel and was in the heart of Mayfair. I am not a huge foodie, but I can honestly say I had one of the best meals ever at Scott’s. It might be my favorite restaurant of all time!
As I write this post, we are now in Hook, England, at Heckfield Place. Staying here is the real reason we booked this entire trip. Our oldest son and daughter-in-law visited in January and couldn’t stop raving about it. It is everything they said it was. Heckfield Place is a Georgian-style manor situated on close to 400 acres. We have a beautiful room and have been watching the leaves change before our eyes. In English country fashion, it’s been wet and a little gloomy. The house features two dining rooms, a bar, and multiple lounging and reading areas, perfect for puzzles and devouring a good book. Every afternoon between 3:00 and 5:00, tea and cake are served in one of the living rooms. All of the flowers and food are grown on the farm on the property! There is also a gorgeous spa house where you can indulge in spa treatments, saunas, steams, and a swim in an indoor infinity pool that looks over the grounds. Everything here has been perfection! It has been a trip to remember (see below for what I got to do!)!
About the outfit
This soft sweater dress is from Quince, and the bomber jacket is so easy for travel.. I added this structured bomber jacket for warmth and for a bit of edge. It looks intentional but not overdone. I will wear this dress at home for the rest of the fall. It’s the perfect dress to layer with different style jackets or blazers. I think the ideal length for a sweater dress falls to mid-calf. I love a sweater dress for its versatility. Also, the bomber jacket is so on trend right now. It’s not “young girl” streetwear anymore. I like to think of it as essential as a moto-style jacket. Look for bomber jackets that hit at the hip or below. What shoes do you wear with a sweater dress? I like a bootie (with a higher shaft), a heel, or a sneaker. It just depends on where you are going and the look you are aiming for. More knit dresses and bomber jackets below.

This is our last day at Heckfield Place, and we will head home tomorrow. I loved our trips to Florence (the second time we’ve been and the best) and London (probably my seventh time to visit), but the real gem is Heckfield Place. There are many of these types of country manors in the English countryside, but talking to the British guests, this place is by far the favorite.
I’m eager to get home since I have a lot on my plate until the end of the month. I need to quickly get my house decorated for Halloween, because my littles from California are coming. I’m already slightly freaking out that Christmas is around the corner! Yikes! Nothing like spending the last relaxing day already stressing about that!
I hope you have a great day! Stay well and Be safe! Cheerio!

Oh, this jacket is brilliant! It’s reversible to leopard print fleece! These sneakers have saved me! Expensive, but so worth it for walking long distances!

Most gorgeous owl I’ve ever seen! Look at the feathers, eyes, and those claws!
