THE BEST FALL SKIRTS

THE BEST FALL SKIRTS

Happy Friday, ladies! I think we are all in a good mood in Dallas because we are finally getting some cooler weather and able to bring out some of our fall clothes. Do you remember a few years back when skirts were almost non-existent? I remember looking for them and wondering where they were. Skirts are back in a big way and available in every fabric, style, and length. I found this skirt (that is unfortunately sold out now) and bought it for the handkerchief hem. As I mentioned, skirt styles are all over the board, from minis to bubble hems to pencil styles and in every conceivable fabric.

The fall weather can be a bit unpredictable, making skirts extremely versatile for layering. Wearing a skirt with tights, leggings, or over-the-knee boots keeps you warm and also adds a little something extra to your outfit. I don’t wear mini skirts anymore except in the fall and winter when I can add a pair of tights. If you have good legs, why not wear a shorter skirt? Skirts can easily be dressed up or down. Pair a flowy skirt with a chunky knit sweater for a relaxed look, or add a tailored pencil skirt with a blouse and blazer for a polished outfit. And don’t be afraid to wear sneakers with a more casual skirt like this.

I paired a long-sleeved ribbed tee with this skirt and threw a “popcorn” cozy sweater over my shoulders for a little added warmth and interest. My boots are one of my favorite things. I bought these Chanel boots on The Real Real during Covid. I had wanted them for a long time but didn’t want to spend the money on them, and lo and behold, they were on the site. This style was a few years old, but I still loved them, and when I saw them, I had to purchase them. They are a size too big, but I just wear a thicker sock. I think I paid $375 for them, and unfortunately, they are going for more now.

If you are considering adding a skirt or two to your fall wardrobe, I have rounded up fifty of my favorite ones below.

What are your plans for the weekend? I’m sure we will watch all of the football games tomorrow (as usual on Saturday!).. On Sunday, we are going with our grandkids to the State Fair of Texas. We haven’t been in a while, and I always think it’s fun to go and try at least one of the new and interesting food combinations! Which would you try? I think I’m leaning toward the Churro Crumble Cheesecake! I will let you know!

Have a great weekend! Stay well and Be safe!
