VACATION LOOK WITH SAKS FIFTH AVENUE
Happy Wednesday! Well, later today is officially the end of my four days/night of babysitting duty, and I will say that it was so fun but exhausting (even though I had help)! I don’t judge anyone on the way they raise their children, even my own, but one of the main reasons I am so tired is that my daughter and partner co-sleep with the baby, which means granny has to do the same. I remember sleeping with my last child for a while because I was nursing, and it was much easier to do it that way, but I didn’t do it for more than a couple of months. It is fun to wake up and see that little face smiling right at you, but I didn’t sleep well. I need a vacation, which brings me to this outfit I am wearing.
My husband and I have not been on vacation by ourselves since I can’t remember when. We have been on trips, but they have always been with family or friends. We were planning a trip to Laguna Beach at the end of the month but are postponing it for a few weeks in hopes that the weather will warm up. I thought Southern California was always sunny and warm by the water this time of year, but a good friend in California told us to wait a few weeks to make sure the weather was warm enough.
Hopefully, we will won’t get the “June gloom” either. After the construction of our home and a crazy few months, we need a little R&R and want to go somewhere where the view is beautiful, and we can sit by a pool and read or do nothing at all.
VACATION LOOK WITH SAKS FIFTH AVENUE
I am so excited to team up with Saks Fifth Avenue to plan my vacation looks! Â Saks Fifth Avenue is a go-to for finding the perfect items for any event and day-to-day! As I said, sitting by a pool is the primary goal, but of course, nice dinners and a little touring around town will be in the mix too. I ordered the caftan-style dress I am wearing for going out to dinner, but it hasn’t been saved for the trip as I have already worn it. I think the striping of the print is very elongating!
It has a plunging neckline ( I did add a little hook and eye closure ) and an elasticized waistband that you could add a pretty chain belt if you wanted to. I paired it with a great Stuart Weitzman gold wedge that will go with anything and everything for the summer! I also bought a beautiful chain bracelet (because big links are in) which I think looks gorgeous with the dress!
What else will I take on my much-needed vacation? A bathing suit, of course, and this is the one I am dying over! How gorgeous is it? A hat is a must in the summer and for a vacation. This hat is my pick because it is chic and packable. Plus, why didn’t I invent this hat holder? It’s genius! I also am having a moment with this matching top and skirt for running around exploring. This set is in my cart, ready to push purchase, and this matching top and shorts for lounging.
One beauty item that I have been using (that goes with me everywhere now) and use on my face every day is this Multimodal Defender SPF 30 by U BEAUTY. This daily protector fights photodamage while it brightens the skin. It has anti-aging ingredients to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, pores, and skin laxity. I am obsessed! It’s so important to use an SPF daily, especially in the sun!
Are you all planning any fun vacations this summer? The only other trip we have planned is to Montana in August to escape the heat. I will head back home today to wallpaper hangers and painters. I am so excited to get the last bit finished and everyone out of my house and back to normal! Calgon, take me away!
Have a great day! Be well, and stay safe! xx
Thank you to Saks Fifth Avenue for sponsoring this post!

One of my favorite dresses you’ve posted! Need to ask tho….why Laguna? My friend lives there and cautions all regarding the recent church shooting, price of gas, fires, and a host of other issues. Please be careful or maybe opt for a beach not in California? Safe travels either way!
