WEDDING GUEST DRESS // FALL EDITION
WEDDING GUEST DRESS
Happy Friday, ladies! I hope you all have had a great week! I hosted the event at Alice and Olivia on Wednesday and had so much fun! My (almost) nine-year-old granddaughter came with me, and she was working the store in under thirty minutes. The Alice and Olivia team said she “clocked in” and should have been paid! The girl has never met a stranger! It was a great turnout, and of course, I found something to buy and help support Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. How pretty is this blouse? I put this vest over it and loved the look. Both pieces are hanging in my closet!
We are headed to a rehearsal dinner tonight and a wedding tomorrow for our very good friend’s son. It got me thinking about a few other weddings we are attending this fall and what I would be wearing. I found this beautiful purple pleated lightweight crepe dress that I thought would be a great wedding guest dress. I love the color and the movement of this piece. I paired it with my silver sandals from INEZ and a silver rhinestone bag.
I don’t know about you, but I think shopping for a wedding guest dress is hard. The dresses are either too short, too sexy, have cutouts, or have a mile-high slit! I don’t want to sit down and have my loose skin pop out of a cutout or fear that my Spanx (or worse) will show from a high slit when I sit down (not a pretty sight). Ugghh! I also think many in our age group don’t like showing their arms. Yeah, like I said, real easy to find a dress these days! That is why I love the purple one I am wearing. It’s beautiful, chic, and tasteful.
I found several others below that I would wear to fall weddings. If you have a wedding coming up, I hope these ideas help!
So, I had to have a bone density test on Wednesday. I got the results back, and it’s not so great. I definitely have Osteopenia, but borderline Osteoporosis. My gynecologist always says that breast cancer is the gift that keeps on giving. Apparently, chemo and radiation can cause this. Yay Me! Anyway, I’m a little bummed about this. I have to see an endocrinologist to get me on a program to strengthen my. bones. I guess I have to be careful on the dancefloor tomorrow night! GRRRRRR!
I hope you have a great weekend! Stay well and Be safe! xx

We have a wedding in Atlanta in November and just this morning I pulled out a 15+ year old silk/cotton navy dress that I thought I could wear. It’s a long shirtwaist/wrap on top style with a similar vibe to the one you are showing here. Thanks for confirming that I can wear it and feel current!

Cathy- see if there is an osteostrong near you. I didn’t want to take medicine and it has helped me with bone density. Only takes 10 minutes a week and there are more benefits to it than just strengthening bones. Enjoy following you and all your adventures.

I just attended the wedding of my niece. It took me about 3 months to find a dress (sadly, I live in an area with few options for a semi-formal event and had to purchase dresses on line). “Going back!” became a mantra in my house! HA HA! I FINALLY ended up with the Elliatt Rosalind dress. Not anything that I thought I’d want or could wear (I’m rather large chested for my size). But, I purchased it because I was at the end of my rope and thought, at least it would be FUN!! So, there I was in a “too low cut”/”too short for my age” dress (that my husband LOVED, BTW) having the time of my life – because that dress made me feel FUN!! Lesson learned!
