Happy Friday, gang! We have made it through another fun week in 2020! Who is going to eat a ton of black-eyed peas on New Year’s Eve this year? I usually have a “no thank you” bite. But I’m having a bowl this year! I have had technical issues with my computer this week, and it has really bummed me out. So I texted back and forth with Apple all day long on Wednesday and still could not fix the problem I have with my laptop.
I called to make an appointment at one of the Apple stores in Dallas, and can you believe I could not get an appointment for weeks? However, I did get one on Sunday, but in another city! I’m driving to Fort Worth to have it looked at. My desktop is acting up too, so I am not a happy camper. I feel like I got a virus, but everyone says you can’t get one with a Mac (not sure that is true).

Let’s move on to better things like best friends and shopping! That always puts me in a good mood! You all know my good friend Heather, but this is her if you are new and don’t. We have been great friends for about six years now and love to spend time together (BTW, both negative of Covid). We thought it would be fun to shoot together for a “girlfriend’s gift guide.” I happened to show up in a camel puffer coat, and she was in the camel faux fur, so we went with it! Heather and I love to go shopping together (she’s my favorite to do it with) and have taken many trips in the past to do so. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to do it much this year. We still get on the phone and talk about what we found or like.
Most of the time, I think it’s pretty easy to buy gifts for girlfriends.
I know that the “obligatory” holiday candle seems lame sometimes, but not if they are from Nest or Le Labo. I love both of these brands and would love to receive one. And I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a beautiful scarf or a pair of gloves. I love giving cocktail table books (because I love them). I also love this Our Place pan so much that I would gift it too. If you have a very best friend, why don’t you make reservations for a spa day, Mani/Pedi, or a nice dinner? Heather and I love to do all of those things together. I have come up with some gifts for the girls below that I hope help in your holiday shopping.
I am planning on spending the entire weekend finishing my shopping and wrapping. I have gifts that need to be mailed out. And I need to get that done pronto. I don’t think Dallas will be shut down like other places, but just in case, I need to get on it! What are you doing this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope it’s a good one for you!
