CHIC AT EVERY AGE-FLARES
It’s Chic At Every Age Time!!! This month, we are loving flare jeans. Flares are having a resurgence again, because of the “hippie/boho” vibe going on in fashion at the moment. I for one, love them, because they make your legs look crazy long! They are a little trickier than a skinny jean. With skinnies, you can wear any heel height, but with flares, a wedge seems to work best, or a pointed toe pump (no one ever looked good in a pair of flares and flats). That being said, if your flares need alterations, you need to take the shoe you are going to wear with you so that you get the length perfect.
Proportion is key too, when working with a flare. I think they look best with a loose top (cotton or silk) tucked in a slouchy way like Sam (30 something), Ashley (20 something) and I are wearing (I am thinking for my age here, but as you can see, looks great on a 20 and 30 year old too!) I love the way Heather (4o something) has hers paired with a crop top, but if you notice, hers are high waisted, so it works. I also think a tee and jacket look great with flares too! If you don’t have a pair, why not try one this fall, and bring back your 70’s child!

It is a young look, but all of you ladies look super.
I agree it does boil down to proportion.
Shoes that have pointed toes with a heel
or a wedge stlye shoe works best with
a flare bottom.
Looking good like always!
Have a lovely day!

Sooo happy to find your blog. We are similar in age and have similar taste. One big difference – I’m a late in life mom with two young kids! Your style ideas work perfectly for my busy lifestyle. Glad to see I can be a mom, be 50ish (+) and still look fabulous!

such an adorable post. You all look fab in flares. True style remains as a lady ages and she shouldn’t ever limit herself because she’s growing older! Linda Rodin has always been my example of this truth.

Hi Julia! So glad that you found my blog too! It’s nice to meet you! Such a blessing it must be for you to have those two babies! I think “older” parents are kept youthful with young children! You must be a “young” 50 something!!! So glad we have similar tastes…you must love jeans too!
Thank you for reading the blog!!!!!
