TRAVELING
Good Morning! Hope all of you had a great weekend! It has been so nice and actually cool in Nashville, especially in the morning and night, that I am getting so excited for fall! One of my oldest and dearest friends came into town on Thursday, and stayed until Saturday. We had a great time catching up and of course shopping!
I am posting early this morning, because I am out the door to catch a flight. I am heading to Los Angeles to meet my daughter for a few days, then catch up with my husband and friends for the second part of the week in Santa Monica. We have dinner plans with a friend from L.A. and a friend from Dallas tonight. I am so excited to catch up with them, but mostly to get some time with my girl. She has been so busy, that I hardly get to talk to her. She is the creative director and social media girl behind the dating APP called, BUMBLE. The founder of the APP is like a daughter to me, and I am so proud of these girls! This dating APP is one that is empowering for women. Now, I do not know the first thing about how to maneuver a dating APP (no Ashley Madison for me!), so you might have to figure that one out for yourself, but if you or your daughter are single, check out BUMBLE.
Today I wanted to talk about travel clothes. I am a bit “old school” when it comes to what you should wear. I don’t “dress up” like our mom’s used to, but I do think you should look appropriate. Not a fan of wearing your pajama pants or leggings with a tee shirt on the plane. That being said, I like to be comfortable, especially for a long flight. Of course jeans are my go to, but I would wear leggings with a tunic style top. A black jacket is always a great idea, because it looks great with jeans but can be thrown over a dress later. Comfortable shoes or boots are a must! And, wearing a scarf is my number one necessity! When others around you start hacking, you can pull that sucker over your nose and mouth!!!!! I don’t travel with much jewelry either. I usually wear one necklace and take a few earrings and bracelets.
Things I like to travel with, are a nice big tote, to carry my essentials, my laptop, an oversized pashmina (because I am just not going to use the airline blanket), snacks, earphones, a good book, and lots of fashion magazines. What are your essentials for traveling?
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Hi Cathy,
First enjoy your special time with your daughter and have lots of fun.
I am also away from home. Visiting Edmonton, Calgary and Banff.
I travel the same as you. I wore a mint green tunic, skinny navy
jeans, navy ballet shoes and minimal jewlery. I too think comfortable
yet simple and stylish is the way to go. Packing…..The same as you.
A few tops that go together with jeans, black pants and camel pants.
I always bring maybe two plain dresses that I can accessories with
a few pieces of jewelry. Shoes would be flats for walking and heels
for evening. Toiletries and a little bit of make up. I’m good to go!
Have a smashing time there with family and friends.
Enjoy!

Hello, it is the first time I comment on your blog, and the first thing I would do is to congratulate you for your strength to overcome cancer and show your passion for life. My partner has also overcome cancer twice, and I understand how difficult it is. Congratulations.
I like your look trip, and I like your approach to choose. I think it’s possible to wear comfortable without disguise or go unkempt. Your basic and simple look, shirt and jeans, with a touch of style shoes is cute. The elegance of simplicity and balance, my favorite style. Happy week.

Hi Josep-Maria! Thank you for your sweet comments! I will take that congratulations a million times! I fought hard for it, as I am sure your partner did! I hope all is well! I agree with you, that it is possible to be comfortable and put together at the same time. You made my day!!!! Have a great week and thank you for reading!!! xx

Hi Sheron! I had so much fun on my vacay, that I am slack on responding and posting my blog! Thank you for your comments as well as the description of what you wear and pack. I hate to pack, but I like that fact that you sound like a minimal packer. I wish I could be more that way. I don’t know why I feel like I need to take my closet and makeup drawer with me!
Hope you had fun on your vacation…sounds fantastic! Thank you for reading! xx
