FRIDAY NIGHT LOOK
FRIDAY NIGHT LOOK

Hi, everyone! I hope you all have had a great week! I apologize for being a little lax on my posts lately. I don’t know if it is from surgery, being down because of my dad’s failing health, or that it’s January, but I am trying to get back into the swing of things. It’s not happening as quickly as I would like, though! Speaking of my surgery, I wanted to share a little update on my neck. I honestly can’t believe it looks as good as it does after just three weeks (today). The bruising is all gone, and I have slight swelling under the left side of my chin, but it’s under my chin, so it’s really not noticeable. I still have dissolvable stitches behind my ears and in my scalp and some (sorry I hate this word) scabbing, but I am so glad I did it! For those of you asking, my surgeon is Dr. Nicholas Haddock at UTSW in Dallas. He did a fantastic job! It’s a good thing that you can’t see the real scars behind my ears because those look gnarly!!!
THE CARAMEL LEATHER PANTS I ADORE
Today, I am showing my Friday night look. I have shown these caramel leather pants before, but I have enjoyed them so much and wanted to show them again. I love them with the spicy colors of this blouse. I am keen on the ease of this outfit for a date night after a busy day. It’s really a throw on look but one that appears to have had some thought put into it. I don’t know about you, but when we have plans, it seems like I am always getting ready at the last minute. That’s why an outfit like this is always my go-to. I bought the leather pants at the beginning of fall and am so glad to know that they are still available. I think they are going to be great going into spring with white, cream, and pastels. I did get one size down in these pants because they do run a little bigger and leather stretches. There is also a faux leather pair that looks exactly the same. For ease in a date night look, I think a solid pant or skirt is always a great bet so that you can wear anything on the top.
ULLA JOHNSON FEMININE PIECES
The blouse is by Ulla Johnson, who makes some of the prettiest and most feminine pieces. This print comes in this dress and this version and another style blouse. I know that Ulla Johnson pieces can be a little pricey, but to get the same look, look for boho feminine pieces like this blouse or this one (on sale). My shoes are long gone, but I wanted to show this pair to you because I would mix it with this same outfit. I can’t believe how much they look like the Manolo Blahnik “Hangisi” and are almost free!

The weather in Dallas has been so crazy! Wednesday it was 78 degrees, yesterday was 58 and raining, and today it’s 60 and raining. What are you supposed to wear? Our Chic at Every Age group is supposed to shoot today, but I’m not sure the weather will hold out. We are having dinner with my uncle and aunt, who are visiting from out of town, and my brother and his wife tonight. We are hoping my mom can come too. She has not left their apartment much in months because of my dad, and since things are worse, she has barely gotten out. She has a sitter for my dad, so fingers crossed she comes. We want her to have a break!
I hope you all have a great weekend! xx

Hi Cathy,
This is my first time writing to you but I’ve been following you for a couple of years.
I’m 65 but am most often thought of as 45 (honestly, I’m not boasting)….size 10-12, A friend is getting married (bride 55/groom 60) on March 1 in Atlanta and the guests are required to wear white. Outside of white jeans and tops, I have no white. Since childhood, I’ve been afraid I’ll spill. Anyway…….I purchased a Michael Kors sleeveless knit/ V-neck dress online. Please help me style it. (If you go to Neiman Marcus and search on White dresses, you can see it) I was thinking ankle booties and a white blazer or cardigan or maybe a big slouchy sweater over it. Or can I wear the Spanx arm tights underneath for warmth (jumper style)? Or or or, do you have any other suggestions for wearing white. I do own white jeans and I’m willing to wear them.

Hi Cathy
You posted about the Jane Iredale concealer you use to cover bruises & I can’t find it. Could you let me know what that is again?
Thanks so much

Hi Cathy! Cute outfit – where are the sunglasses from? Maho? I may have the same pair. I love them.

Hi Cathy,
So thrilled you are feeling better!!
Is it just me or are these prices really really high….if I spent that much on an outfit I would not feel comfortable.
We have just put the kids through college, whew!! Please can we have some posts that are affordable.
I love looking good and feeling sexy and vibrant at 56 but I don’t want to break the bank.
Thanks

Hi, Francesca! Thank you so much! I know that they are but I linked a few pieces to get the same look at lower price points. I try to do that because I know every budget is different. Thank you for the feedback! Keep feeling sexy and vibrant!!!!! xx
