CHIC AT EVERY AGE- CUTOFF SHORTS
Hi there! I have to say that I have been a little lax in the blogging department these past few weeks. The traveling and the move have gotten to me! I have been so busy trying to get my house in order that I haven’t had time! The next couple of weeks may be the same, and I hope you all will understand. As I said in a previous post, we are leaving for Italy, and I really want to take a break and be in the moment. No offense to any of you, I love you all!!! Today Chic at Every Age is showing how to wear cutoff shorts at any age. Now, I am not a cutoff girl! I would not be caught dead in a pair except at the beach or lake, but…I am part of this team, so I do what I am told to do!
Speaking of the team:
The Fashion Hour-Wearing a cute sweatshirt and bandana to show off her cute baby bump.
Style of Sam– Wearing my favorite outfit here. She tied two vintage Hermes scarves together for her top over her cutoffs.
So Heather– In a black button down and heels to make her outfit look dressier.
Me
It’s not that I think you shouldn’t wear cutoffs over 50, it’s just that I am not going to wear them out and about. I am grateful that I have legs that are slim and work, but I don’t like the way my skin is looking as I age. It might help if I would exercise, as it might help tighten the skin. Do you all get what I am talking about? It’s crepey!!! I also have to self-tan every time I want to wear something shorter. Some women at this age still have amazing skin, so I say wear those shorts as long as you can!
If I were going to wear them in the city during the summer, I would wear them like I am in these photos. A bigger billowy top to off set the shorts is a good choice. I would also wear a linen button down or dressier tee. Slides, sneakers, or a wedge are what I would wear with these too. While I am mentioning wedges, these that I am wearing are so comfortable, that I am taking them on my trip to walk around in. Don’t you love the rose gold color? Do you all still wear cutoffs? Shorts are a necessity for so many that live in hot climates during the summer. If this is not your look like me, skirts and dresses are the way to go. Whew…glad this look is over for me (until next summer!)! Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Cathy: Your legs looks fine! This reminds me that I have a pair of jeans i no longer wear but would look good as cutoffs- not too short for my 60+ legs LOL.Maybe I’ll fringe them….have a wonderful time in Italy.

Love your blog! Totally get the crepe skin. Not loving it either. But, yes exercising definitely helps with this.
You look amazing.

Hi, Sandy! Hope you are well. Did you click on the different color boxes on the link? There are not very many sizes left. What size are you?

Hi Cathy,
I love your blog and how you share things only us over 50 can understand!
I also won’t wear short shorts in public because of crepe skin. I tell myself it’s not a big deal, a lot of my girlfriends just do it, but I hate it. I work out 5-6 days a week and while I have good muscle tone, the crepe doesn’t go away. I suppose I’ll look back at this age (if I’m lucky) and wonder what I was worried about!
Have a wonderful time in Italy! One of my favorite places!
